El jumped up in surprise when Daphne suddenly began to squirm and scream in her sleep. She scurried back as Hopper came running into the room. El had to get used to sharing a room with Daphne because recently she started to have nightmares. He had only learned of the nightmares because he came by one night to check on her. Hopper decided it was best that she no longer live on her own at his old trailer and decided to sell it.
"Kid-" Hopper ushered El out and ruffled her head before he moved back into the bedroom. He got onto the bed with Daphne and did not even flinch as she threw her hands around. And he waited patiently for her before she flinched herself away.
Daphne panted as she scurried back into the wall. She basically slammed into it and searched around to see where she was. "Will?"
"It's okay, kid. You're safe. Will's safe at home." Hopper ran a hand over his face before he shifted on the bed and extended his other hand to her. "Come on, let's get you some water."
Daphne could hear her heart drumming in her ears as her chest raised up and down. She curled up and covered her face with her hands. She inhaled as deeply as possible as she tried to control her breathing. She wiped under her eyes and just nodded her head.
"Where's El?"
"Here..." El whispered from her spot at the door frame. With it being a few months since El was found and started living here, her hair had grown some more. "Are you okay?"
"I'm okay." Daphne answered back with a small smile on her face. Her breathing was still a little heavy but it wasn't as sporadic as it had been prior. "I'm sorry for waking you up again."
Hopper got up from the bed and helped Daphne up. He rubbed her upper back a bit, "What do you two say about having some eggos?"
El brightened up at the idea and walked out to move to the fridge to get the box out herself.
Hopper had not left the room yet before he glanced down at Daphne, "You want to call Will in the morning?"
"Yeah..." Daphne whispered and let out a long exhale.
"Was it the same?"
"Yes." Daphne opened and closed her fists.
"And it was just the nightmare? Nothing else?"
Daphne nodded her head, "Just the nightmare." She cleared her throat before she walked out of the room and smiled over at El, "What toppings should we have?"
"Cream."
"Whip cream it is." Daphne opened the fridge and took out the canister. She ruffled El's hair and sat down at the small table. "I think we should come to an agreement on what fruits we should have."
El wrinkled her nose and glanced over at Hopper. He just shook his head, "She's got a point, kid. It's good for you."
"I like strawberries." Daphne offered before finding the frozen bag that Hopper had bought, after Daphne pushed for him to get it. She put a few on her waffles and a few on El's. "If you don't like it, just put it on my plate."
