Daphne felt a throbbing pain in her head and spat the pool water out of her mouth. She rubbed her eyes to get whatever substance was on her off before she stood up. She searched around and found Barb coughing, "barb!"
"Daphne?" Barb coughed as she struggled to stand, "Hello?"
Rushing over to help, Daphne got Barb up to her feet, "Where are we?"
"Nancy!" Barb called out to her friend.
Daphne just looked around and realized they were inside the pool, but it was decayed and filthy. She didn't even understand why it was so dark with such thick air. She waved her hand in the air as Bar limped off in another direction. It was like before... with the small particles in the air.
"Nancy!"
Daphne searched for the ladder out of the pool and spotted it. She grabbed the metal and immediately pulled her hands away at the slick feeling. She tried climbing out again, using as much of her strength to lift herself up. Once she got to the top, she rolled over onto her back and groaned loudly. The sound of growling made her sit up and look back into the pool. All she could do was scream at the top of her lungs as she saw this horrendous monster behind Barb.
Barb turned her around in shock, "Oh, my God!"
Daphne knelt over the ladder, "Barb! Get over here! I'll help you up!"
"Daphne!" Barb cried as she rushed over to her. She reached up and grabbed at Daphne's hands, ignoring the pain she felt.
"Okay! I got you! I got you!" Daphne groaned and struggled to pull her up and even keep her grip. She let out a gasp as the monster grabbed onto Barb's legs, "No! No! Barb!"
"Daphne! DAPHNE!" Barb screamed as she lost her grip entirely and was pulled back, "DAPHNE!"
Daphne let out another sobbed cry when Barb was pulled from her hands and into the demented pool. She flinched back when blood splattered and all she could do was cover her mouth as she sobbed. Daphne felt like her entire body was going to give out as she struggled to stand up.
Swallowing, Daphne turned and took off running as fast as she could. Her heart beated so loudly that that was all she could hear. She could not even hear her own breath. All she knew was she had to get away.
Daphne was in the woods at this point. She could no longer continue and just fell over onto the ground. Her palms met the ground. She continued to heave and sob loudly, she couldn't control herself. She didn't want to try and be so loud. She needed to stop but she just couldn't.
"Hello?"
Daphne let out a shocked noise and looked up ahead of her. She locked eyes with a little boy and breathed out.
