Burgundy grew frantic as she grew worried about her friend. She couldn't lose someone else. She had known Marcus for so long. She couldn't do this. All of them had to be together. Marcus and Daphne.
"Marcus!" Burgundy screamed, her throat beginning to hurt from the volume she was using, "Marcus! Where are you?"
"Nancy! Where are you guys?"
Marcus could barely keep up with Nancy. He could feel his chest beginning to hurt as all the oxygen left her body. He hadn't been this scared before. He thought other things in his life were scary. But it could not begin to describe how it was for him at this moment. And that was when he realized that Daphne must have been in a similar situation.
"Marcus!"
Nancy's head perked at the sound of Burgundy's voice and yanked Marcus in another direction, "Jonathan! Burgundy! We're here!"
"We're right here!"
"Follow our voices!" Burgundy stopped. She could swear their voices were coming from exactly where she was standing, "Guys! Just... Just follow the sound of our voices!"
"Easy for you to say!" Marcus yelped as Nancy suddenly yanked him behind the tree. His body hit the wood and he winced from the pain. He shut his eyes as tightly as possible and could feel tears staining his face.
Burgundy let out a cry of anger because she could not find her friend. There was nothing she could do. And that was when she turned and saw a mallet against one of the trees. SHe stopped and realized it was the one Marcus had, "Jonathan, over there-"
Jonathan picked up the mallet and looked down at the bottom of the tree. A dark red light flickered from within, "Are they..."
"Marcus! Nancy!" Burgundy yelled into it, "Follow my voice! We're right here! Just follow the sound of my voice!"
Marcus opened his eyes and followed the sound. That was when he saw it. He saw the same entrance but that big ugly monster was only a few feet away from them.
"Nancy! Marcus! Come on! Just follow my voice!"
The voices of Jonathan and Burgundy were warped but the two knew where they were. Nancy turned her head to look up at Marcus. She stared before she started to count down to him.
Three...
Two...
One!
Once Marcus saw her lips move, he went forward in a sprint toward the exit. He dropped down to the floor and started to shove Nancy into the hole to get her out first. He felt her grab onto him and then saw another hand.
Marcus fell out of the hole and grabbed onto Burgundy as he let out a sob. He wrapped his arms around her and didn't let go. Jonathan knelt over and fell into the embrace along with Nancy. They all just sat on the floor for a few minutes.
