Marcus and Burgundy had left the class together, knowing Steve had to drop by his locker quickly.
"Hey!" Nancy called out with a big smile on her face as she approached them. "Here."
Marcus took the invite and sighed, "You want to go to the party?"
"Yeah." Nancy raised another sheet, "I even grabbed on for Mabel."
"Come and get sheet faced." Burgundy read it out loud as she sighed, "Shit. It's on Halloween. I can't go."
"What?" Marcus whipped his head in shock, "What do you mean?"
"Jonathan is going to be with Will Trick or Treating so I said I'd come out with him."
Marcus groaned loudly, "Seriously?"
"Yeah." Burgundy shrugged her shoulders, "You guys should bring Daphne. It would be good for her to get out."
Nancy's expression soured for just a moment before she smiled, "Yeah."
"I'm not so sure Daphne would even want to go." Marcus admitted, "As much as I'd love for her to come out."
"She should do what's best for her." Nancy said sympathetically as she patted Marcus' back. She let out a squeal as Steve snuck up behind her and lifted her off of the ground. "Oh, my God!"
"Where the hell is everyone else?"
Jonathan walked up to the group, "Is Daphne not here?"
"What?"
"She ran out of class today, I headed to the nurse's office as soon as class ended to see if she was there but she wasn't."
Marcus looked over at Nancy, "Why didn't you say anything?"
"It slipped my mind, sorry."
Finally, Mabel walked over with her shoulders slacked down. "Daff had another episode and Hopper came to pick her up. Eddie said she had run into the black box theatre space and crawled under the table."
"Is she okay?"
"I'm not sure. I'm going to call her later today."
Jonathan checked his watch and sighed, "I need to get going."
Mabel had her hands on her hips, "I've got a session today but I will be calling Daff as soon as I get home. Burgundy, do you think you could maybe call Joyce and see if she has any updates."
"I can do that. I need to go grab Lucas and Erica."
Marcus was suddenly left alone and he just threw his hands up in the air. He could always find Dustin and they could head home together, but he was a kid with friends that liked to do stuff after school.
"Hey."
He stopped in his tracks and shot Billy an annoyed side eye, "Go away."
"Ouch." Billy laughed off his cold attitude toward him, "And here I thought we were friends."
