Marcus tried to follow Daphne into the house but had run directly into Nancy. He faltered and saw the expression on her face. When he looked back up to find Daphne, she was gone. He sighed through his nose, "Nancy, are you okay?"
"I need a drink." Nancy whispered with anger in her voice. She slipped through the crowd with Marcus. She stopped at the punch bowl and glanced at the guy next to them, "What is this?"
He threw his own cup back and burped out, "Pure fuel. Pure fuel! PURE FUEL!"
Nancy shrugged her shoulders and dipped her cup into the bowl, "Want any?"
"I think I'm good." Marcus whispered as he stared down at the bowl and could smell the alcohol inside of it. That was how strong the smell was. He could actually smell it and he just watched Nancy down an entire cup.
"Okay-" Nancy reached out and grabbed his hand, "Let's get back to dancing!"
Mabel put her hands on her hips as she swayed to the music and watched Nancy drag Marcus along, "Where is Daphne?"
Steve stopped bopping his head and glanced down at her, "Uh... She headed up the stairs. Probably the bathroom."
"Are you sure?"
"I'm not one hundred percent sure but there are not a lot of people dressed as a scarecrow."
"Fair point." She held her cup with both of her hands, "We made the right choice, right?"
"With what?"
"Getting Daphne to come."
Steve tilted his head to the side, "I think it's a good step in the right direction for her."
"But are we forcing her to?"
"If we don't do anything, she won't do it herself." Steve shrugged and watched as Nancy raised her cup up in the air with a cheer as Marcus danced. "He's good at dancing."
"Better than anyone else here, that's for sure." Mabel noticed how all the other students partying were really enjoying Marcus as he danced to the music. Currently, Beat It by Michael Jackson was playing and Marcus was proving how well he could dance. Burgundy had jumped in and was dancing to the beat, but was doing completely different moves. Her style of dancing was the kind where she threw her ass back and caused everyone to scream.
Steve smiled happily and glanced back to the kitchen for a moment to catch Nancy going back for more alcohol. His eyes widened and he slipped through everyone to get to her, "Hey-Whoa, whoa! Hey, whoa! Take it easy. Take it easy. Nance, Nance, Nance-"
"What?" Nancy slurred out and swung her empty cup in the air, "We're just being stupid teenagers for the night. Wasn't that the deal?" She refilled her cups and chugged down its contents, wiping off the small drops that fell on her cheek. Her glare was on Steve as she slipped back into the crowd.
