"Okay, I brought us some food" George smiled. Walking into the room with a bowl of chips.

Dream didn't say anything. Instead slamming his pencil back on his desk. Groaning as he saw George sit beside him in the corner of his eye.

The two were studying for their midterm exam. It was more george helping dream study, as Dream wasn't the best at school.

Adhd pushed him to struggle with all things school related. Being unable to concentrate, or focus. Especially under pressure.

George was helping him study for his math, and science exam. Ensuring he'd pass, and have his parents be proud of him.

Setting the bowl of chips down, George picked the pencil back up. Beginning to rewrite a practice question for Dream to solve.
They'd been studying for hours now.
The blond not letting himself take breaks, as he wanted to get it all over with.

The pencil drew an arrangement of numbers, and corresponding exponents. Looking at dream, George awaited dreams answer.

Dream sighed, as he tried to match the numbers in his head. Remembering the never ending rules, and exceptions to math.

His brain went from focusing on the math, to how much time he spent on everything. His mind drifting to everything other than what he was supposed to be doing.

George watched as dreams face twisted into frustration. Green eyes squinting at led marks graphed into the paper.

Looking away, George didn't want to make Dream feel pressured. Or like he was being watched. Letting the other take his time, as he knew Dream struggled in math.

Moments passed, and Dream scoffed softly. Indicating he was done with the question George wrote.

Brown eyes scanned the paper. Seeing easer marks, and scratched away attempts.
Dreams writing was hard to read, and very clearly redone many times.

It was very evident that tried his very best to have the correct answer.
But as George looked over the question, he immediately realized dream didn't answer correctly. Not even close to the correct answer.

It hurt his heart too much to tell his boyfriend he got it wrong again. He'd answered so many incorrectly, yet George had faith in him. He knew dream could eventually understand.

The worst part was that he wasn't even close at all. The answer dream put was so far off it was pitiful.

Dream was looked away from his paper. Almost like he knew he had the wrong answer.

"Okay- so you had the right idea," George started. Using his own pencil to erase his answer.

The defeat in dreams eyes was unexplainable. He looked so disappointed, and so hurt.
He'd really tried his best. Yet it was still wrong.

Dream chewed on the inside of his cheek, as he watched George rewrite the question.

"You mixed up these numbers here," George pointed. "You were really close though."

Nodding slowly, Dream blinked a few times.
The brunette kindly explained where he went wrong.
That was until a tear dropped onto the paper.

Looking up, George almost cried himself.
Dream had his eyes closed, as tears rolled down his cheeks. Pink lips quivering in frustration.

"Oh, no.. dream" George cooed, lifting his chin up to face him.

Sniffling, Dream wiped his nose, and tears. Removing evidence that he'd begun to cry.

"Why don't we take a break okay? You're doing really well, I promise" George smiled lovingly.

Shaking his head, Dream wrote the answer george had told him too. Not feeling accomplished at all.

"No- no, baby.. we're going to take a break" the brunette softly said. Grabbing dreams hand to get him to stand.

"I- I'm gonna fail- my dad will be disappointed, and you'll be disappointed—" dream croaked. Cutting himself off with a sob.

"No lovely, I couldn't be disappointed.. I'll make sure you understand before then. You're dad will be so proud of you, I promise"

Green eyes were filled to the brim with tears. Frustration pouring out of each one. Cursing himself for his low tolerance to stress.

"Why is this so hard for me!!" Dream whined. Suddenly clutching onto George was standing beside him.

This was one of the first times Dream really let himself become vulnerable. They'd been dating for a few months, but it was almost always dream comforting George. Not the other way around.

The brunette was not going to let dream regret crying in front of him. Doing his best to care, and help his lovable boyfriend calm down.
Which proved to be difficult, as he didn't know what made dream feel calm.

Deciding to sit down with him on the bed, George let dream hug him tight. He was sitting criss-cross, while dream was straddling his lap.
Just trying to be as close to his boyfriend as possible.

Dream still had the pencil in his hand, as he held George as tight as possible. Being unable to understand why he couldn't just get it. Why was math so difficult for him?

"I'll help you honey, don't worry" George cooed gently. Rubbing his palm over dreams shoulder to offer him the closeness he seemed to beg for.

George could see the small mechanical pencil that was security held in dreams fist. Soon taking it away and throwing it somewhere random. Just trying to take dreams mind away from school for a few minutes.

George littered kisses along the top of dreams head. Waiting for the other to calm, while he whispered comforting phrases.

Blond hair was tangled in pale fingers. Slowly combing through curls, and slight bedhead.
By now it had been at least ten minutes. Dream was calming down slowly, and coming back from a stressful headspace.

Dream wiped his eyes on George's shirt, while taking deeper breaths. Understanding he'd have to go back to his desk, and try again. Even if he knew he'd get it wrong.

Briefly, he looked up to George. Receiving a delicate kiss on his nose as soon as he locked eyes with George.
"Let's try again okay? We'll go at a better pace this time" George smiled earnestly.

Nodding slowly, Dream sighed. Letting George wipe the last of his tears away.
He had to admit it felt good. Good to finally let out his frustration, and good to feel George's genuine care for him.

But it definitely didn't feel good to be sitting back in his desk chair.

"Okay, so.." George began. "If the variable is the same, then you can add these two exponents"

Nodding, dream took a few moments to comprehend what George was telling him.

The two continued to attempt at questions. George holing dreams hand the entire time, showering him in kisses and praise when he got it right. Absolutely adoring the way dream smiled when he was given the reassurance when he answered correctly.

"Your parents are going to be so proud of you baby" George smiled.
