Prompt: (requested) another bad adhd day
Word count: 1660
————————————————Dream was having dinner with his old school friend, roger. They were at a nice restaurant, just catching up with one another. Sadly, this was one of the days dreams ADHD couldn't contain itself.
Dream was constantly fidgeting with things on the table, and zoning out every once and while.
When he wasn't spaced out, he would bring up a band he really enjoyed. It was his favourite band, and it made him exceptionally joyous.Roger would bring up how much he wanted to see a baseball game.
Dream fell into interest the more roger explained the game. He starting to relate it the band he loved so much. This made him seem self centred, but it was his way of listening. Understanding whole concepts proved to be difficult for him. His way of proving interest was relating it to other things. It was never to be rude, but a way for him to show he wasn't tuning out. It was just how his brain worked.
Especially when he could relate it to hyper-fixations. He could ramble on forever about the things he loved. Tending to go off on tangents without even realizing. This would almost always come off rude, and do exact opposite of his intention.
Sapnap and George were very familiar with the blondes unexpected rants. Understanding that he couldn't help it. Not getting mad when he accidentally interrupted one of them.
Dreams adhd also tended to be on the more severe side.
"The games in on the twenty-first of-"
Dream without being able to stop the urge, accidentally interrupted roger.
"That's when the concert is!"Realizing that it was the same day, the coincidence making dream smile. Just thinking if the concert made him happier. It made him feel fetching adornment to the lead singer, and drummer.
Roger Just blankly stared at dreams smiley face. His eyes crinkled from how wide his smile was.
Roger began to get annoyed with the constant interruptions. He had a right to be, but also knew about the blondes adhd, and how it had gotten worse after graduating.
Yet still didn't care that it really wasn't his fault. If Dream could stop himself from getting lost in the moment, he would. He really never meant it to come off rude.Dream continued to babble about the thing roger talked about, while roger interrupted him seconds later.
"That's so cool that you-"
"You know, you're a bad listener?"
Dream immediately stopped talking. He was shocked roger was so blunt about it. He wasn't surprised by his words. He knew deep down he wasn't a listener, he was a talker. A constant ray of sweet chatter and sunshine.
The words made his mood drop completely. The blonde basking in himself coming off as annoying, or a bother.
"Maybe this could finally be a reality check for you. You talk so fucking much, and it makes you look so bloody selfish—"
Roger lectured Dream for moments longer. A good 5 minutes of straight mental deterioration.
Dreams lip began to quiver slightly the more agitated roger became. He was realizing just how annoying it was, and it hurt him to know he was the cause.Thankfully he got a text from George, telling him he was outside to pick him up, and take him home.
Dream handed roger a wad of cash. Enough to cover both of their food, as he scurried out the restaurant. He wanted it to be an apology. Even though it was his stupid brains fault for not picking up on his selfishness.
