Alastor sat in a chair, he hated doctor offices. They always had a weird smell, it smelt so normal. Too normal. And the music, who listened to that trash? He looked down at the black gloves on his hands. They were thick leather, meant to stop him from burning anything. Not even that was working, Alastor could see an edge of the gloves starting to smoke.
He could hear his dad and the doctor talking outside. He hated whenever adults did that. I'm not deaf, I can hear you both. He thought, his gloves starting to smoke. He forced himself to take deep breaths, the
gloves stopped smoking, going down in temperature."Alastor." Alastor looked he narrowed his eyes at up, the doctor. "You seem to have a- rare condition." He laughed softly, rare. What he actually meant was, 'You have something that we have no idea what it is, and we don't like it'. "You'll be getting a few more pairs of gloves, don't take them off. And no physical contact for a while." Bernard nodded, like the doctor was telling him instead.
"Cmon." He said, ushering Alastor outside. All he wanted to do was throw the gloves off, he just needed to be alone. It's all you idiots talking that's making my hands smoke. He thought, leaving the building. He didn't wait for his dad, he'd probably be pissed that he left without him. What's he gonna do? Touch me? Alastor laughed, maybe this wouldn't be horrible. A small dog ran past, Alastor looked up and saw a little kid crying.
"My dog!" The little girl cried, Alastor ran after it. It didn't take long for him to catch up, and corner the pup. The dog panicked and ran into his legs. Instinctively he reached for the dog, while trying to catch it the dog undid his glove. "Hey-" Alastor started, but it was too late. The dog yelped in pain and ran off.
Alastor sighed and got up. Frick. The little girl was staring at Alastor, her face full of fear. "MOMMY!" She cried, running away. "No, no! It's ok!" Alastor yelled, running after her. He quickly caught up the the little girl, who's eyes were wide with fear.
"Calm down, I'm not gonna hurt you." Alastor whispered, trying to calm the little girl. The little girl looked up at him with wide eyes and tried to swing at him. Alastor instinctively grabbed her arm, forgetting his hand was ungloved.
The little girl let out a shrill scream and pulled her arm away from Alastor. Alastor stumbled back, landing on the ground. On the girls arm was a red hand mark, some smoke was above it and a sizzling sound came from it. The girl ran off and Alastor stayed on the ground, trying to process what had just happened.
In the background he heard sirens. Police. He quickly got up, then picked up his gloves, tripping on himself on the way. He ran out of the alleyway and into another, the sirens continued to get louder behind him. I need to stop getting myself into these situations. Alastor didn't realize his hair was getting a brighter orange, and through the gloves he could smell smoke.
"This is police! Stop where you are!"
The voices through the megaphone echoed throughout Alastors head. He ran into another alleyway, jumping onto a dumpster. He knew every one of this towns escapes, one of the reasons he never got caught. He jumped up from the dumpster and caught a ladder, he quickly climbed up, jumping down onto a rooftop.
He ran across the roofs, jumping across the significant gaps. After he couldn't hear the sirens anymore he climbed down, he couldn't go back home, no, Bernard would already know about this. Then it hit him. Grandpa. He could go to his grandfathers. He had heard a bit about him, his father wouldn't talk much about him.
He knew he was abusive, to both his father and his aunt. And that he owned a casino, at the outskirts of town. No one would think he'd be there, the police or his dad. He made up his mind, he was leaving Bernard, leaving Truman.
Leaving his home.
