(Trigger Warning: Violence & Murder)

{Ashur Pov}

Ashur woke up to Thaddeus still writing in his notebooks, he has been doing so ever since Ashur helped him escape. Thaddeus looked over at him, seeing he was awake. "I've decided you going to stay with a friend of mine." Thaddeus said, closing the notebook.

"For how long?" Ashur said, getting up. "I still don't know. It might be forever, or till it's safe enough for you to come back." Thaddeus said, standing up. He gestured for Ashur to follow, and he did.

They walked quickly out of the building, making sure no one heard them. It was quite early in the morning, so it felt nice. The cold quiet air was serine, Ashur always felt at home in the cold. Maybe it was because he had his powers, but even before the cold was always comforting.

Thaddeus got into a car, and Ashur got into the passenger seat. It was a short time before they pulled up to a little motel. Thaddeus walked Ashur up to one of the rooms, knocking on the door. Ashur noticed how Thaddeus looked uneasy and he hoped the person he was staying with wasn't bad, well, bad enough that Thaddeus didn't want to see them.

An older woman opened the door, a bit confused when she saw Ashur. "Mom, this is Ashur. He needs to stay with you for a little bit." Thaddeus's words sounded stale, like he rehearsed this a million times but still couldn't get it right. Brooklyn halfway nodded, they both seemed to not want to see the other.

'I can't say anything, I wouldn't want to see my mom either.' Ashur thought, Thaddeus lightly pushed Ashur inside. He walked away rather quickly, giving Ashur a goodbye glance. 'Really, that's all I get? After saving him from that prison all I get is a glance before he leaves me with a stranger!' Ashur took a breath to calm himself, he couldn't do this now.

No, his powers always went wild whenever he got mad. And his anger issues didn't help with that, but lately he had gotten better at controlling them. Brooklyn closed the door, turning to look at Ashur.

"Make yourself at home, it's not much but we can make it work." Brooklyn said, Ashur nodded sitting down on the light blue couch in front of him. A knock sounded at the door. "It's probably Thaddeus, maybe he came to drop off your stuff." Brooklyn said, going to the door.

'My stuff? I don't have anything.' Ashur thought, watching as Brooklyn opened the door. She tensed, and so did Ashur when he saw the bright orange hair and yellow eyes piercing him. "Well, looks like I came at the right time." Alastor said, a psychotic look in his eyes.

He pushed Brooklyn out of the way, and starting making his way towards Ashur. Brooklyn ran to cut him off. "He's just a kid, he hasn't done anything!" Brooklyn said, blocking Alastor.

"Oh but he has, he helped your son escape, and I can't have that, can I?" Alastor said. "I have to get him out of the picture, and I'm pretty sure you know what that means." Alastor said, an evil grin on his face. Brooklyn had a face full of panic, she quickly punched Alastor, looking as if she regretted it immediately after.

Alastor's grin grew, he punched Brooklyn, sending her to the floor. "Guess I'm not leaving here with just one body today." Alastor said, turning back to Ashur.

Ashur froze, he couldn't move. Even as Alastor picked him up by the collar he was frozen with fear. "Is someone scared now?" Alastor said, punching Ashur. Ashur yelped, he made a small ice dagger in his hand, stabbing Alastor in the leg.

Alastor's winced, dropping Ashur. He ran towards Brooklyn, trying to help her up. "No Ashur! Get out!" Brooklyn whispered to him, pushing him away. Ashur didn't have a moment to react before he was hit in the face with a shot of fire.

He screamed, clutching his face. He made his hands cool up and cool down the burn, but he could feel the scar forming. Alastor walked up to him, holding his face as he forced him to look at him. "Now you and your buddy can match." Alastor said, Ashur glared at him.

He felt as there was a ice cold flame inside, he hated Alastor. For what he did to Thaddeus, for what he did to Brooklyn, and for what he's doing now. Ashur made his arm freeze over as he placed his arm onto Alastor. He quickly started to freeze. Alastor noticed this and made his own arm heat up, making Ashur slowly burn.

Even though the heat was coming slowly it was already hurting Ashur. Maybe it was because of his powers, but he felt it was hurting way too much. Alastor suddenly let go of Ashur, Brooklyn had stabbed him in the leg, with Ashurs old dagger of ice.

Alastor growled, sending a wave of fire at Brooklyn. Brooklyn dodged it, sending a punch towards Alastor. Ashur watched in fear as Alastor's caught her fist, his arm sizzling. Brooklyn screamed as Alastor pulled out a dagger, grabbing Brooklyn as he pulled the knife across her throat.

Ashur ran away, holding his hand over his mouth to stop himself from screaming. He could feel the tears rolling down his face. It was half from the pain, and from what he just witnessed.

He ran down the street, hiding in the shadows. He knew where he was going, after all he had paid attention when they were driving over here. It was a small thing that Ashur had learned to memorize, he was paranoid something like this could happen.

'No, I never thought something like those could happen.' Ashur thought, wiping the tears that were still streaming from his face. He ran faster once the neon sign came into view, he ran inside ignoring the doors that opened.

He barged into Thaddeus' room, where Thaddeus turned to face him. His eyes widened as he saw the burn mark on Ashurs face, Ashur ran over to him, giving him a tight hug as he hid his face. He didn't care if Thaddeus pushed him away, just a few seconds of comfort was all he needed.

Thaddeus gave Ashur a light hug back, which made Ashur feel fuzzy inside. "Ashur," Thaddeus started. "Who did this to you, and what happened with Brooklyn?" Thaddeus said, letting Ashur stay hugging him. Ashur felt his breathing quicken.

"It- I- Once you left, Alastor came." Ashur said, he felt Thaddeus tense, but he didn't say anything. "He- he came in and attacked me, and then..." Ashur paused, the memories coming back in a flash. He shut his eyes tight.

"He killed Brooklyn." Ashur said, his voice a whisper. 'What if he blames me? She died protecting me! He's gonna hate me and- and I'll be all alone again. I'm just destined to be alone, I never should've came here, if I had just-' Ashurs thoughts were cut off by Thaddeus' voice.

"It's ok, go sit down and calm down." Thaddeus said, Ashur couldn't tell the emotion in his voice. "I'll go get you stuff to help with your burn mark." Thaddeus said letting go of Ashur. Ashur silently sat down on the bed, bringing his knees up to his chest. He hid his head in his arms, quietly sniffling to himself.

'One day. One day I'll kill him. I'll make sure he regrets everything he did today. Everything he did to Thaddeus.' Ashur thought. He was determined to make Alastor pay.

Even if it meant giving up his innocence.
