Alastor sat on the floor of the basement, a banana in his hand as a peel of another was on the floor. Thaddeus had tried being.. nice?
The words felt so wrong, how could Thaddeus be nice? Alastor shook his head. At least he got food, Zagen hadn't brought any down for him since he had left. Even though he hadn't made any trouble.
Alastor jumped as he heard the sound of a latch unlocking. Hearing how rough it was Alastor assumed it was Zagen, he kicked the bottle of water and the bananas away into a corner.
The door opened, Zagen standing in the doorway. "Ready to behave?" He said, Alastor nodded quickly after. "Yes sir." Alastor said, normally he would've snapped at Zagen. Not caring if he'd stay in longer. But he wanted to get out now, try and talk to Thaddeus.
"Good. One wrong move and it's right back here." Zagen said going up the stairs as he left Alastor. Alastor waited till he couldn't hear his footsteps then ran out, going upstairs quickly. He opened the door to Thaddeus's room, seeing his younger cousin wasn't there.
He sighed. School. He must be there. Alastor turned on his heels, ready to run down the stairs as he was stopped by somebody. It was his great-aunt, Kathryn.
"Got something to say?" She said, crossing her arms. Alastor felt his face turn red, he wasn't really ashamed of what he had done. But if someone as nice as Kathryn was disappointed...
Alastor sighed. "I'll talk to you later, right now I have something important to do." Alastor said, getting around Kathryn before running out the house. He made it to the school quickly, he wanted to have time to talk with Thaddeus.
After checking in at the office he made his ways through the halls, he was looking down most of the way wondering what he would say to Thaddeus.
He looked up to see Thaddeus on the floor, a boy pointing a gun to his head. Alastors eyes widened, he made sure to keep his pace, not making a sound. When he was a short distance away he ran, pushing the boy to the ground.
Thaddeus looked up at him, confused and relieved he appeared. "Hurry up and get out of here!" Alastor said, Thaddeus didn't say a word just got up and ran.
Alastor turned to the boy, who looked oddly familiar. The boy opened his eyes, his pure white ones glaring into Alastors yellow eyes. Alastor's jaw dropped. He knew him.
"Dolus?" Alastor asked, the boys eyes widened. "Alastor-? Wait- what the-" Alastor stepped back as Dolus got up, fully aware he had a gun.
"Why did you protect him?" Dolus said. "Look we don't have to do this." Alastor said, Dolus raised the gun, pointing it at Alastor as he had a deathly serious look in his eyes. "No. We do." Dolus said, moving the gun slightly to signal for Alastor to walk out the building.
Alastor did as he said, his hands in the air to try and prevent him from being shot. As he walked Alastor began to think. What happened to the innocent boy he had known?
Alastor stopped when he was outside, a good distance from the school. "Now," Dolus said, moving in front of Alastor. "Why did you defend Thaddeus? Don't lie to me I'll know, and it won't end pretty for you." Dolus said, having to look up a bit at Alastor.
He had always been short so it was expected. Alastor sighed. "He's... my cousin." Alastor said, Dolus' eyes widened. "You're related?! Do you even know what he did?" Dolus said, his face calm while his voice said otherwise. Alastor slowly shook his head.
"That weirdo killed my brother." Dolus said, his voice coming out as a growl. "I'm gonna kill him if it's the last thing I do." Dolus said, he his gun fixated on Alastor. "Unfortunately I'm going to have to shoot you." Dolus said. "I can't have you stopping me again. It's a shame really, you were a good friend when we were younger."
