Alastor
Alastor walked the cold streets, after Ashur hadn't come back Zagen told Alastor to go and look for him the next day. Alastor hadn't expected him to come back, the kid had a gun, why would he come back to the torture that was his life?
Alastor shook his head, he couldn't let that part of him win, the part that always told him to follow the 'good' path. That part was weak, it'd only get him killed. As Alastor walked he couldn't help but listen to the voice, he was glad that Ashur got away, he couldn't last with Zagen.
Alastor could already see that he would be even more stubborn than he was. That's why he was so harsh with him, it was better his spirit was broken before Zagen's plans went into play. Zagen wouldn't take kindly to disobedience.
Alastor knew from experience. He sighed, he couldn't have sympathy for the enemy, after all now he was tasked with bringing Ashur back. Alastor stopped abruptly as a blue flashed past him, Alastor chased after.
Ashur ran into an alleyway, getting stopped by the dead end, Alastor smirked, this'd be easy. "Now now Ashur, come with me and this'll be painless." Alastor said, if the kid cooperated he'd keep his word, if not...
"Not Ashur." Ashur turned, his voice was different, deeper than it usually was. Alastor for was confused before he ducked, narrowly avoiding a blast of ice. He shot a wave of fire towards Ashur, who made a block of ice appear, which quickly stopped the fire.
He molded the ice into small block, he shot them at Alastor. Alastor struggled to dodge all of them, he yelped as one struck him in the face. While he was standing, still in shock, another hit him in the face, covering his mouth.
Alastor let out a muffled yell as ice pulled his hands together, almost like handcuffs behind his back. Alastor jumped backwards to avoid a shot of ice, causing him to fall. Alastor's eyes widened as Ashur walked towards him, a crazed look in his eyes.
"Now, since you're restrained, lets get introductions out of the way. I'm Ash, but I already know you." Ash said, extending his arm to shake Alastor's. Alastor glared at him, he knew that he couldn't shake his hand, after all he was the one who did this to him.
"Oops." Ash said, a grin on his face as he pulled back. "Now, since your exerted your use.." Ash said, making a shard of ice appear in his hand. Alastor's eyes widened as he realized, he was going to kill him.
Alastor pushed himself away with his feet, shuffling away on the floor. He winced as a shot of fire hit his face, luckily the ice melted, but unluckily it hurt. Alastor looked to see Thaddeus, the person who'd shot the fire. Alastor pushed himself up with his knees, backing away quickly.
"He's- he's crazy!" Alastor yelled, backing away. Ash flashed him another crazed grin, the ice shard flashing. Alastor's eyes widened, he turned and ran, not wanting to take a chance with Thaddeus and Ash.
That most definitely was Ashur, but why'd he call himself Ash? He sounded different AND acted different, it makes no sense! Alastor thought as he ran, he suddenly stopped. He couldn't go back home, Zagen would be so disappointed that he failed at bringing back Ashur.
And that would mean- Alastor felt his fear rise higher. Even if he was scared of Ash right now, he was terrified of Zagen. He smashed his back on a wall, breaking the ice that bound his hands together.
Alastor touched the skin that had been in constant contact with the ice, it stung to the touch and ached. Alastor winced, he hated the effect ice had on him, even if he grew some tolerance to it. Alastor walked back to the alleyway, seeing Ash pacing back and forth.
Ash looked up at him, his eyes widened as he shook momentarily. Alastor was confused but took this as a chance, he ran towards Ash, pinning him against the wall. "Alastor! Wait- it's me, Ashur! Not-" Alastor cut him off. "Not that idiot Ash?" Alastor growled, Ashur looked a little hurt but nodded.
"Even better, means I don't have to struggle." Alastor said, letting Ashur go. He punched him in the face, Ashur retaliated, kicking Alastor away. Alastor growled, starting to beat Ashur. After a few minutes Alastor stopped, he lunged for another hit but stopped as Ashur spoke.
"Wait! Please..." Ashur said, covering his face. Alastor paused. "Fine." He snarled, Ashur looked up, his face surprised. "Alastor, come on, you really don't believe Zagen is doing all this to help you, right?" Ashur said, Alastor glared at him.
"He's perfectly fine with hitting you, and is even public with it. Do you really want to spend your life helping someone like him?" Ashur asked, Alastor's gaze softened. He never really wanted to live with Zagen, but felt he was indebted to him, because he helped him long ago.
"I have to, he helped me so I must help him." Alastor responded like a robot, his voice was robbed of emotion. "Alastor... you don't have to lie, I won't hurt you, I promise." Ashur said, Alastor stared at him.
Something about him reminded him of Truman, maybe it was the big eyes and kind words, but it made him want to trust him. Alastor gave a small nod, still staying silent. Ashur's face lit up. "You don't have to go back to him, stay with me, with Thaddeus." Ashur said, Alastor laughed.
"Thaddeus would never forgive me, alone enough to let me live with him and you. He doesn't trust me a bit." Alastor said, Ashur shook his head. "Maybe if you apologize, if you give him a reason to trust you, he just might." Ashur said, lifting a hand to Alastor's face.
Alastor flinched and glared at Ashur, but once he saw his bright blue eyes staring up at him he allowed it. Ashur put his hand on Alastor's cheek. "Leave Zagen, he's putting you through more pain than you deserve." Ashur said, Alastor could feel himself agreeing with him.
He opened his mouth to speak when he suddenly got hit with a shot of fire, sending him propelling backwards. Alastor grunted as he hit the wall, he looked up to see Thaddeus glaring at him.
Alastor looked into Thaddeus furious eyes, and decided he didn't want to be around to feel his rage. He scampered up and ran off, ignoring Ashur's calls to come back.
Alastor ran back to the house, he was questioning everything he had been doing these past seven years. It was horrifying, did he really spend all this time helping a monster?
Alastor was left with his thoughts, he stopped as he heard a familiar voice. "Athena?" He asked as he stared at a beautiful girl, her hair white as snow and amber eyes. Athena nodded, embracing Alastor in a hug.
That was when Alastor was sure of it, he could feel Athena's warmth, her touch, the rise and fall of her chest.
Athena was alive.
