Ashur awoke, forgetting where he was for a spilt second. He had be honest, that was probably the best sleep he got in months. Ever since he left home he had to sleep in abandoned buildings, staying out of sight. It felt good to sleep with another person in the room, he had slept with cats around before, but they didn't compare to another human.

Ashur looked over to Thaddeus, who was still scribbling in a notebook. 'Did he really not sleep?' Ashur thought. "Did you not sleep?" Ashur said, sitting up. Thaddeus paused before speaking.

"No, I was watching over you." Thaddeus said, still looking down at his notebook. "You don't need to look after me, after all I beat Alastor yesterday!" Ashur said. "I was like, bow! Pow!" Ashur said, repeatedly punching the air in front of him. He turned to see Thaddeus with amusement in his eyes.

A tuft of hair covered Ashurs eyes, he glared at it. It was already turning back to blue. "Uh, do you happen to have black hair dye?" Ashur said, Thaddeus shook his head. Ashur silently sighed, turning away. "Why do you dye it?" Ashur turned back to Thaddeus. "What?"

"Why do you dye your hair?" Thaddeus said, Ashur mumbled something. "It stands out too much, it's easier to find someone with blue hair in a crowd than someone with black hair." Ashur said, he left out why he didn't what to be noticed.

If cops found him he'd be taken back to his parents, and that'd be horrible. His parents hated him after all, he couldn't stay with them. Thaddeus nodded, he looked like he knew Ashur was keeping something from him but didn't say anything.

Ashur was thankful for that. Even though he admired Thaddeus greatly he didn't want to tell him all the secrets of his past. Ashur laid back down, staring at the ceiling.

{Alastor's POV}

Alastor kicked the door open to the casino, his clothes drenched from the ice. After he ran to find the source of the sound Alastor found Thaddeus escaping. With him was a young boy, Alastor assumed he had only turned a teen.

His hair was a light blue, some black streaks throughout it. He should've been easy to defeat, but he caught Alastor off guard. He had powers. Not the fire, but ice. Alastor was still shivering, even the ice in the room wasn't as cold as this.

Alastor saw Zagen out in the hallway, he ushered him into a room, dripping water as he walked. "What happened?" Zagen hissed, glaring at Alastor. "Ok, don't be mad, but, Thaddeus got away." Alastor said, Zagen paused for a moment before going off.

"You let him escape?!" Zagen growled, raising his voice. He almost never did unless he was really mad, which made Alastor even more scared. "I tried to stop him! But he had this kid with him-" Alastor stopped as Zagen cut him off. "You let a kid beat you?! And what happened to you, why are you soaked!?" Zagen yelled, hitting Alastor's soaked shirt.

"That's the thing! The kid had powers, ice powers." Alastor said, Zagens eyes widened slightly. "And? Are you really that incompetent that you can't beat a kid just because he catches you off guard?" Zagen growled, slapping Alastor.

Alastor stifled a whimper. "Hurry up and get to the house. Do whatever you can to find information about that kid. I'll be here, cleaning up your mess." Zagen snapped, walking off.

Alastor stayed for a moment, looking in a mirror at the mark in his face. Zagen never hit Alastor and didn't leave anything, he always left his with some sort of trace. Alastor hated it. He hated that Zagen always made him look weak at the casino, people here were supposed to respect him, but if they saw Zagen hit him they wouldn't.

Alastor sighed, he walked out, walking straight to his car. He'd stay up at night if he had to. He'd make sure he found out everything about that kid. Every weakness and strength, he'd learn how to defend himself against his powers.

He should already be at an advantage because of his experience, and people with ice should be hurt by fire. He'd make sure he never lost against him again. He'd regret the day he helped Thaddeus escape, he could've been a great asset to him and Zagen.

Alastor smile to himself as he drove. He couldn't wait to kill him, to make Thaddeus hate himself even more. It'd make him sure he shouldn't associate with anyone. 'Even better.' Alastor thought.

'I can't wait.'
