{Ashur's POV}
{A few months earlier}

Ashur suddenly awoke, the smell of smoke filled his lungs as he saw bright red flames around him. The house was on fire. "Mom?! Dad?!" Ashur yelled, getting out of bed as he grabbed a few things. He put on his shoes really quickly, he needed to make sure he had a few things to keep himself alive afterwards.

He opened to door to see his mom and dad running out of the house, his siblings in their arms. They didn't even glance towards him, like he was just a ghost. Ashur felt his heart break. Were they just going to leave him there, to die in the flames?

Ashur jumped back as the door collapsed in front of him, he started breathing quickly. He was trapped in the room, how was he supposed to get out? Ashur turned to the left, running over to the window. He climbed out of it, jumping down onto the grass.

To his right were his family, all hugging each other and making sure they were safe. Ashur glared at them, they didn't even look back at the house. They had completely forgotten about him.

Ashur ran off, he wouldn't go back to them, they obviously didn't care. He went into an abandoned building, settling down in one of the rooms. He'd stay here forever if he had too, or maybe until he found someone who would actually take care of him.

{Skip a few weeks}

Ashur walked the streets, he had came back from his part time job he got, he had to get one to provide for himself. Ashur stopped as an older man in a black suit walked up to him. "Ashur. Come on, this is getting tiring." He said, Ashur glared at him. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Ashur tried walking away but the man blocked him. "Ashur, the more you do this the worst your memory will get. Your parents died two years ago, you need to move on." He said, Ashur felt like someone punched him in the face.

The memories came rushing back, Ashur backed away. "Come on, let's go back to the hospital. You can seriously injure yourself being alo-" Ashur cut the man off as he punched him, running away quickly after.

'No. It's not true. It's not true.' Ashur thought to himself, hiding in his room in the abandoned building. Ashur began quietly sobbing to himself, he couldn't deal with the memories, they hurt him too bad.

After a few minutes Ashur abruptly stopped crying, looking around confused. He couldn't remember what he was crying about, not the encounter with the man. Ashur wiped the tears away, continuing with his day.
