Alastor sat in Zagens car, he had told Alastor that Thaddeus killed again. And Alastor was half excited to see who has died. This gave him another chance to rough up Thaddeus, even if he had the whistle.
Zagen had only allowed Alastor to fight Thaddeus before, because he was still mad about Eros dying. But once he had learned that Thaddeus won against him Alastor wouldn't hear the end of it. Alastor picked up his hand, brushing against the fresh burn he had gotten from Zagen that day.
Alastor stared out the window, watching as they started to park. Alastor got out of the car rather quickly, waiting for Zagen to do the same. Once he was out Zagen led Alastor to the murder scene. Alastor eyes widened as he saw a mess of white hair on the ground.
Alastor ran forward, bumping Zagen out of the way. Alastor knelt down, picking up Athenas head and carrying it in his arms. "NO!" Alastor yelled, putting his head against Athenas blood stained hair.
Alastor felt tears prick his eyes, and he didn't bother to stop them. 'Why? Why her?!' Alastor thought, grinding his teeth.
Zagen scoffed, rolling his eyes. "Get up Alastor. You look pathetic like that." Zagen said, his voice lacking any empathy. Alastor ignored him, his head still buried into Athena hair. "He won't get away with this. Don't worry." Alastor whispered.
"I'm going to kill him." Alastor said, gently resting Athenas head on the ground. "No, you aren't." Zagen shot back. "You already know your orders Alastor. Thaddeus will not die as of now." Zagen said, his voice stern. "You think I care about that?" Alastor snapped.
"HE KILLED ATHENA!" Alastor yelled, his hair brightened. His hands stayed normal, after a while he had learned to control his fire when he got mad. It helped when he was trying to trick people.
"I don't give a fuck what your plans are, Thaddeus is dying at MY hands." Alastor growled, glaring at Zagen. Zagen raised his hand and Alastor flinched, turning his head away.
Once Alastor felt Zagens hand on his shoulder he looked back. "After all I've done for you, I saved you from Bernard. I gave you power, here you're feared. And your going to throw it all away, just for some girl?" Zagen said, his eyes now more sympathetic.
"I..... Yes. I am." Alastor said, shrugging off Zagens hand. Zagen glared at him, his sympathetic mood now long gone. "You really think you can stand up to me?" Zagen growled, looming over Alastor. "I'm not seventeen anymore, you can't just hit me." Alastor said, his defiant gaze locked onto Zagen.
"Oh really?" Zagen said, taking a step closer to Alastor. "I'm pretty sure I can, after all who's gonna arrest me? Athena?" Zagen growled, Alastor back away. "You can't-" "Oh I can't what? What Alastor?" Zagen said, taking another step towards Alastor.
"You can't talk about her like that.." Alastor said, his voice low. He hated to admit it but he was still terrified of Zagen. "I can do whatever I want." Zagen said, taking more steps towards Alastor as he fearfully backed away. Alastor backed up into a wall, Zagen cornering him.
"Listen Alastor, you will do as I say. Or else," Zagen said, lunging at Alastor. Alastor flinched, quickly turning his head as he shut his eyes tight. He never felt the impact of Zagens hit, but could feel himself shaking.
'I hate this. How come he always gets to win?' Alastor thought, his eyes still shut tight. He only opened them when Zagen began to speak. "It's your fault Athena's dead. You got her involved in this." Zagen said, letting Alastor go.
"I told you countless times that you shouldn't associate with anyone. It'll only end up with them dead. This should be a lesson, that I'm always right." Zagen said, walking off to his car.
