Derek's POV

(Two Years Later)

Carla's graduation ceremony ended and she was now a police officer, we all had gone to the ceremony and she ran to find us. I saw her running to us and braced myself, knowing that she was probably going to jump on me. She dropped her bag and jumped into my arms, wrapping her legs around my waist, and I caught her, "Congrats, Princess," I whispered to her, she tightened her arms around me.

"Thanks, Charming," she told me, I set her down on her feet and she grinned at me.

We haven't seen her in a bit and it was nice to have her back, Rylee groaned, "Derek isn't the only one here," she said, crossing her arms, I snorted as Carla rolled her eyes.

"Can you chill out," I asked her, she scoffed and shook her head.

"No, we haven't seen you the whole time he hasn't seen you, Officer Smith," she said, Carla snorted and nodded.

"Just shut up and c'mere," Carla said, grabbing her hand and pulling her into a hug.

Rylee laughed, "I missed you."

Carla nodded, "I missed you too."

When they pulled back, Kas and Tyler hugged her at the same time, getting her to laugh as she tilted her head back, "Sometimes I wish you guys gave me warnings."

Kas laughed and shrugged, "Where's the fun in that," she asked, Leo snorted and looked at Carla.

"Sorry, should've mentioned she was ready to tackle you into a hug," he said, Carla looked at him and shrugged.

"What's new," she asked, grinning, Tyler and Kas let her go and she got a hug from everybody else besides Hannah and Cynthia.

Carla let out a breath and walked up to them, "Officer Smith," Hannah said, smiling at her, Carla snorted, sticking her hands in her pockets.

"Officer Smith, Officer Smith," she answered, they grinned at her before pulling her into a hug.

Cynthia kissed her head, "How was school," she asked, Carla shrugged.

"Oh, you know, it was school," she said, as they pulled apart, Hannah shook her head and rolled her eyes.

"Is that really all we're gonna get," she asked, Carla shrugged again.

"For now?" I don't know if she meant it as a question, but that was how it came out. "I don't want to talk about school, I missed you guys," she said, looking at all of us. "So, what are we doing tonight," she asked, I looked at her, raising an eyebrow.

"Date night or group celebration," I asked, she tilted her head.

"Um, group celebration," she answered, I nodded and grinned.

Rylee and Kas glanced at me, knowing that I had plans for our date night and nothing was set up. I had planned on doing tomorrow anyways, so I got lucky, "Perfect, cause nothing's set up for date night," I said, Carla looked at the sky and groaned.

She looked at me, "Do you always have to have a plan for this shit," she asked, I grinned and nodded.

"Well, of course."

***

Carla and I walked into the apartment that I had gotten with Rylee, Charlie, and Jordan. The five of us had planned this before Carla started at the academy, but we couldn't manage to get the apartment until after she left. Carla walked over to the couch and fell back on it and I snorted, sitting on the floor in front of her, "Princess, what are you doing?"
