Asa nodded slowly and he bit his lip. I wasn't sure if he believed me or not, but I decided not to push it.

"Hey.. I think my appetite's starting to come back just a little. I'll maybe have some bacon? And.. An egg?"

Asa laughed, but something told me it was fake. I shrugged it off. "Okay, so bacon and eggs?"

I nodded and blushed, tying my house coat around me again. Asa took my hand and led me down to the kitchen. I looked around for our three cats, Leo, Missy and Mickey.

"Kitties?" I called them. Leo and Mickey ran up to me, but Missy stayed curled up in her bed, back facing away from us. Something had been wrong with her recently, but I didn't know what. I bent down and stroked the two boys, before going over to her. I stroked her back gently but she turned and mewed, kind of like she was scared or.. Protective over something.

"Ace? What's wrong with your cat?" He walked over behind me, and bent down.

"I don't know. She hasn't been right for a couple of weeks." Missy suddenly turned around, to reveal a swollen little tummy of hers.

"Jesus Christ, she's pregnant!! I told you, you should have got her and Leo neutered!!"

"She's not pregnant Gemma.. Well, at least I don't think she is.." he was eyeing her stomach.

"That's why she was acting all protective there, she's expecting kittens! Do you know how long cats are pregnant for?"

Asa thought for a moment before saying, "9 or 10 weeks I think.. I definitely remember learning something like that."

"Well how long has she been like that? She could go into labor any minute Ace, should we call the vets?"

"Gem you're such a worry-pot! It's only been around.. 5 or 6 weeks, she's fine."

I shook my head, "Well we need to keep her away from the boys for a while.. We know who the dad is." I looked at Leo, but he carried on licking his ass.

Nice.

"Anyway," Asa cut in, "let's make your breakfast, shall we?"

I looked at Missy worriedly before saying, "breakfast can wait, we need to get this little lady sorted."

"Well.. How can we move her? I'd be afraid of lifting her in case I hurt her or something, maybe we should call the vets or something?"

"Exactly what I said earlier.." I rolled my eyes and shook my head. Asa smirked.

"Don't roll your eyes at me."

I laughed and shook my head, getting my phone out and searching for the vets emergency number.

Two pregnancies in the Butterfield house hold.
