*2 weeks later*
Asa and I could finally take our beautiful baby girls home, seeing as they were healthy enough. They weren't big, just a tiny bit bigger than when they were first born, but they were healthy and that's all that mattered.
Asa held Aria in her little pink carrier, while I held Jessica. We probably looked like inexperienced parents to passers-by (technically we are..) as we walked out to the car.
As soon as we got to the car, Asa went to put Aria's car seat on the car roof as he got his keys out.
"Excuse me?! What are you doing, get her down from there now!" I said, making a face at him. "Seriously Asa, I know we're new to the parenting game but why would you ever put a car seat, with a baby in it on the roof of a car?" I tried to suppress my laughter.
"What else can I do with her? I don't want to set her on the ground or hand her to you, it'd be too heavy.. and besides it was only until I got my keys out." I rolled my eyes.
"Just don't do that again, what if there was a gust of wind and the seat toppled off or something?" I tutted, as he opened the car with his keys. I lifted little Jessica's carrier into the backseat of our car, while Asa did the same for Aria. Jessica opened her eyes very slightly and looked at me, sticking her little tongue out. I couldn't get over how beautiful she was, she was a real mixture of Asa and I. She had his eyes and got her tiny freckles from him, while she had my nose, lips and face shape. Aria was the exact same, only she got more from Asa than she did from me.
"Hi baby girl," I heard Asa coo beside me as he looked into Aria's carrier. She was awake, and staring straight at him. She was only two weeks old so she couldn't smile yet, but if she could I knew she'd be smiling at Asa right now. When Asa leaned down to kiss her cheek, she made a little sound, that kind of resembled a laugh (although it obviously wasn't). "Aw, she loves daddy's kisses!"
I giggled, watching this heartwarming moment take place. Asa truly was a wonderful father to our babies. During those two weeks in the hospital, he helped me feed and bathe them. He even helped me bathe myself, seeing as I was feeling very weak from the labor, and I felt that way for most of the two weeks afterwards. We'd forgotten about the proposal, but I was certain he was the one I was going to marry.
"Come on then, lets get these princesses home to their new house!" Asa shut Aria's car door while I shut Jessica's and we made our way to the front. As we got in, Asa leaned over and kissed me. "Thank you Gem."
I giggled. "For what?"
"For bringing our babies into the world safely.. I always knew you were going to be the one who had my kids." He laughed and so did I. "And I know that you'll be a brilliant mommy to them."
I cooed, kissing him again. "I'm honored that you thought that." We shared a final kiss as he pulled out of the hospital car park and drove us to our new life with our beautiful babies.

As soon as we got into the house, we were greeted by Asa's family and mine. Even Missy, Leo and Mickey ran up to us, sniffing around the baby carriers.
"Oh darlings, they're absolutely beautiful.. Congratulations!" My mom hugged me tightly, then moved onto Asa while Asa's mom did the same. I heard a lot of "congratulations" as we walked through to the living room, proudly showing off our new additions. We were greeted by Morgan, Loxie, Aramis and Danielle, with little Marley sitting on the floor playing with her dolls.
Danielle ran up to me, while Aramis and Asa hugged. I saw Aramis whisper something in Asa's ear, but quickly shook it off. "Oh my God.. look at them! What are their names?" I giggled.
"Well, the one in this carrier is Jessica Louise Butterfield, and the baby that Asa's carrying is called Aria Rose Butterfield." Danielle smiled.
"How adorable!! I love the names so much, and they look so much like you and Asa. Congrats Gemmy." She hugged me gently and I hugged her back the same way.
The rest of the day was spent introducing the twins and allowing people to hold them. Everyone was completely in love with them, as were Asa and I.
I was so happy with our little family.
