A terrible habit that Sirius had attained ever since Remus and Katherine had became an item, was that he often sought help from Marlene. He would tell her what was on his mind and she would tell him everything she knew in regards to Remus' failing relationship.

Sirius had sent her a note during class to meet him in the library before supper, and she did. They sat in the library while it ever so loudly piss poured rain outside, seated cautiously at the very back of the library, to make sure that nobody could overhear their conversation.

"The two of them were talking in the common room a couple nights ago and now Remus is acting super weird around me," he whispered very quickly before giving her a desperate look.

Marlene seemed hesitant to tell him about what had happened, because Remus had confided in her, but she just couldn't keep her lips sealed forever. Before she spoke, she leaned over the desk separating them and motioned for Sirius to move closer.

"You cannot tell anyone at all," she pleaded, to which he nodded, "well, Katherine has been cheating on Remus."

"She what?" Sirius gasped, clutching the edge of the desk they were gossiping at.

Why would anyone cheat on him? Remus was terribly gorgeous and he had a heart of gold, even if he could get angry sometimes. Sirius wanted to cry out but it would come off as obsessive if he had.

"Yup, and apparently she has been for months," Marlene nodded disapprovingly, "Remus knows of course, but he still wont break up with her. Dorcas heard that they were having problems in the sex department."

"What like he can't get it up?" he furrowed his brow, his mouth so open Marlene worried his jaw would his the floor. She shook her head.

"He doesn't want to have sex or something," Marlene snickered, specifically at the fact that he didn't want to have sex with Katherine.

"Who did she cheat on him with?" Sirius felt guilty for how he had treated Remus the past week, while his girlfriend had been sneaking behind his back.

"Gideon Doyle," she gagged in response. Gideon was a disgusting excuse for a boy, though he was tall and he had well kept hair, the things he said were almost vomit inducing, so it was a given that most people stayed far away from him.

"Merlin, I hate her," Sirius huffed, crossing his arms irritably over his chest. She had stooped low by going after Gideon of all people, it pained Sirius to imagine him clinging onto their toxic relationship.

"Anyways, I need to get going, I'll see you at supper," Marlene gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek before she left their table. The rain had stopped sometime during their conversation, so the library was now eerily silent.

Sirius remained seated at the desk, pondering what she had said. Why would Remus stay with Katherine? Maybe he had told her about what had happened at the New Years party, and now she was blackmailing him.

Asking Remus about it was out of the question because whatever Marlene told him was undoubtedly unmentionable and he would rather die then address what happened in their sixth year directly to Remus.

He stood up suddenly and rushed off to the Gryffindor common room. Sirius thought that maybe he could consult James for some insight.

"I know," is what James had said once Sirius had caught him in the dormitory alone. Sirius stood before him with a stupid expression for a moment.

"You knew? And you didn't tell me?" he squeaked, resisting the urge to strangle James. His brown haired roommate simply nodded in response.

"I knew you would go crazy, and I was still figuring out how to talk to Remus about it myself," James looked very serious on the subject, his arms crossed over his chest.
