A day out

Sirius awoke the next morning with a freckled arm grasping his waist . He was reluctant to move, because he was very comfortable, yet alas, he wasn't in the mood to cuddle with his roommate, and he was positive that he never would be.

Sirius attempted to sit up, but was pulled back in by one of Remus' surprisingly strong arms. It took him more than 5 minutes to get out of Remus' death grip and finally make his way to his own bed.

Sirius took the medicine that sat atop his nightstand, grateful that it was finally working. He was no longer feeling ill, save for his stuffy nose.

He decided that today he could go to breakfast, and then get caught up on some of his studies. Remus shifted in his bed, head now submerged in blankets.

Sirius took a look around the seemingly motionless room, James' curtains closed, Peter missing from bed, and Remus stuck in a deep sleep. Their room looked the same as it had the first day that he had come to Hogwarts.

He always tried not to think about that day too hard, because then he starts thinking about why he came, and then he just can't stop.

Sirius grabbed his uniform and headed towards the bathroom to take a shower. During his shower he began to hear some shouts coming from the dorm room, causing him to cut his shower short.

The shouts were louder now that the noise from the shower had stopped, it sounded much like an argument. Sirius hurriedly got dressed into his uniform and then entered the war zone that had became of their dorm room.

"Shut off the fucking music," Remus moaned from his bed. James shook his head, continuing to bop his head to the loud music playing from his record player.

"I swear to Merlin James if you don't shut off that music I will drive that record player so far up your ass that you start to see colours," Remus sat up, dark circles surrounding his tired eyes. Sirius slipped out of the dorm before either of them dragged him into it.

The halls were full of people that Sirius hadn't seen in days. He was grateful to leave the dorm room for once and finally talk to Lily, or someone who didn't have the shortest temper to ever exist.

Sirius scanned the great hall upon entry; Peter sat at the Ravenclaw table with a blonde that seemed to be his girlfriend, Mary and Marlene sat together at the Gryffindor table, and to his right Trevor sat next to Sara Lightly, their hands intertwined atop the table.

He ignored this act of affection and headed towards Mary and Marlene glad to spot a friendly face.

"Hey Sirius! I haven't seen you in forever," Mary chuckled, waving her fork around like it was an extension of her arm.

"Hey, how's James doing?" Marlene furrowed her brow. Sirius sighed feeling terrible that his response was going to be negative.

"Not very well, he was angry last night and this morning him and Remus were arguing," Sirius shrugged, trying his best not to get into detail even though he was dying to.

"Yeah he seemed pretty pissed after the game yesterday, he tried to throw hands with Trevor," Marlene chuckled recalling the game.

"No offence to James, but I don't think he would win against a 7th year," Mary sighed, a smile playing at her lips.

"Trevor was at the game?" Sirius asked, glancing behind them to look at him flirting with Sara.

"Yeah, but he just sat on the bench for a good view, that dirty bastard," Marlene scowled. Sirius' stomach turned as he watched Sara giggle at whatever unfunny thing he was saying.

"Anyways enough about James and them, how are you feeling?" Marlene inquired, resting her chin on her hand.

"Better, I was so tired before," Sirius sighed, grabbing a piece of toast and taking a bite.

"That's good! It's gonna be hot today, so if your feeling up to it you can come down to the black lake with a few of us for a swim after classes," Mary offered.

"Sounds good," Sirius nodded, happy for the invite.

"Alright, hope to see you there," Mary smiled, small indents in her cheeks taking place, "but I should get going, my first class is in 10."

"Cya Mary," Marlene called over her shoulder as she walked away. She then turned to face Sirius with a very serious look on her face.

"Did you get mono from Sara? Because everyone thinks she cheated on Trevor with you," Marlene leaned over the table so she could ask him in a lower voice.

"What? No, I might've shared a bottle with her at a party or something, but I'd never kiss her," Sirius grimaced.

He was trying his best to be nice about it, but Sara wasn't very attractive. She wore dark clothes, and dark eyeliner, and she hissed at people if they looked at her wrong.

That's why it pained Sirius so much to see him all over her. Maybe Sirius was just as bad as her.

"Wait, are they dating?" Sirius furrowed his brow.

"Yeah, they told everyone they were dating after the mono thing cooled down," Marlene shrugged, "I believe that one of them has to be cheating, because how else would they get mono if they didn't share spit with someone who had mono."

"Yeah," Sirius muttered. He was sure that he didn't give Trevor mono, because he was diagnosed last, and Sara looks like the type to cheat.

That's not very nice, but she deserves it for giving Sirius mono.
