"How did you find me," Sirius pulled a pillow onto his lap, clutching it tightly. His sobriety began to make an appearance after the initial shock of Remus bursting into the room, but he was still very tipsy.
Remus pinched the bridge of his nose between his index and his thumb, debating on even answering. The dark haired boy gnawed at his bottom lip, awaiting his response.
"I followed you guys here a couple days ago, and when Marlene told me you just ran off, I just assumed you'd be here," his voice was rough and his expression venomous.
"Is that all Marlene said?" Sirius' voice heightened a little. The taller one furrowed his brow.
"Yeah why?" Remus reluctantly took a seat on the edge of the bed. Although he believed that Marlene and Dorcas were dating, something inside of him still pinched when he thought of Remus kissing her.
"Have you been stalking me or something," Sirius changed the subject with narrowed eyes. Somehow their conversations always got heated.
"I just thought it was odd that you were sneaking around with such a dick," he shot back, "we're you fucking him the night of the last party too? When James said he saw you guys sneak in here?"
"We never fucked," Sirius hissed a little more aggressively than he would like, "we would've if you didn't cockblock me just now."
"You're drunk Sirius," Remus argued, looking furious that Sirius continued to justify Trevors wrongs.
"And I still wanted every bit of it," Sirius looked Remus in the eye when he said this, so his words would really sink in. And it did effect Remus, this sentence would be something that Remus thought about almost every day.
"Do you really want James to know that you said that? Especially after all of the shit that Trevor put James through," Remus stood up from the bed, making a start for the door
"You can't tell James," Sirius stood up after him, stumbling a little bit. His mind raced at the possibility of James finding out about Trevor, finding out that he had done things with a boy.
"Im going to, just wait until he hears was a filthy queer you are," Remus snapped at him without thinking, earning a harsh slap across the left side of his face.
With normal people, the slap would just leave a feint red mark, but mysteriously, the impact from Sirius' watch left a burn mark on Remus' cheek, leaving him clutching his face in pain.
"What?" Sirius muttered, his words loosing their venom at the pained look on Remus' face. He reached out to touch Remus' hand, to pull it away from his face, but Remus dodged him.
"Take off that bloody watch," Remus winced, sitting down on the bed once again.
"I don't understand..." Sirius took off his watch nonetheless, reaching out to hand it to Remus. Remus shook his head furiously, scooting back on the bed.
"I'm allergic, get it away from me," He huffed removing his hand from the burned imprint on his cheek only for a moment to see that it was bleeding slightly.
It took Sirius longer than three minutes to finally piece together the puzzle. Excitement built up inside him when he could finally put a name to Remus' odd behavior.
"You're a werewolf," he gasped, dropping the watch on the floor.
"Oh really?" Remus muttered sarcastically. Sirius thought of all of the random nights Remus would disappear for, the sensitivity to silver, the scars, the constant fatigue; it only made sense.
"I'm sorry," Sirius uttered for the second time that night, "why didn't you tell me?"
"Let's just go back to the dorm," Remus stood up, avoiding the cracked watch on the floor and seizing Sirius by the arm.
They made it up to the portrait of the fat lady just before they got caught by professor McGonagall.
"My, my, is that a burn Remus?" She frowned, grabbing his chin and tilting his head so she could get a better look.
"It was a mistake," Remus responded defeatedly.
She tutted and then looked at Sirius who was doing his best at feigning sobriety. The professor then looked at her watch, then back at the two boys.
"Out beyond curfew.. meet me in my office before breakfast tomorrow morning," she sighed, fed up with the antics of the Gryffindor tower.
She began to walk away before adding, "ten points will be taken from your house. Each."
Remus groaned, heading through the portrait hole, Sirius following not too far behind. The common room was a disaster, probably the reason for their head of house's bad mood.
A Ravenclaw was asleep before the fireplace, a Hufflepuff on the couch, another Ravenclaw asleep on the stairwell, making Remus have to step around him.
He unlocked the door to their dormitory, disappointed to see that James had been waiting for him. The curtains to Peters bed were shut completely all around, so he wasn't sure if he was even in there.
"Well? Did you find Sirius?" James inquired a little drowsily. Sirius stepped into the dormitory after Remus, providing an answer to his question.
"Where were you?" James asked Sirius directly, receiving a grumble in reply, Sirius curling up in his bed and shutting the curtains tiredly.
"He was in that forbidden corridor on the east wing, got lost," Remus lied smoothly, taking his green sweater off so he could sleep peacefully.
"Is that a burn?" James frowned, pointing at Remus' cheek. Remus covered it quickly with his hand, climbing into his own bed.
"It was an accident."
James silenced after that, well aware that it was the aftermath of Sirius' watch. The room fell silent, nobody uttered a word for a good five minutes, Sirius' rapid footsteps broke the silence.
He rushed to the bathroom and slammed the door behind him causing a disturbance within the dormitory. Remus thought about going in there, getting him some water and holding his hair back, but he just couldn't work up the nerve after what Sirius had said to him.
Wanted every bit of it. Remus thought, stroking the burn on his cheek. He looked at his fingers and could still see the dark stain of his blood.
The thought of them kissing made Remus sick to his stomach.
The bathroom door opened, then shut again, signalling that Sirius was done for the night.
