Chapter 8

WEDNESDAY

Today I have yet another tutor session with Nathan

Whenever his names comes up memories from monday overflows me

I still can't believe I'm actually considering going to the dance with him

whatever, his team almost always loses against those guys

so what's the chance that they're actually going to win this time

for now I just need to focus on him passing this exam

Kate has another date with Isaac today, they're going shopping for his suit for the dance

I feel sorry for him a little

he's going to be stuck in the mall forever

I was walking down the hall when I heard someone yell my name

"Gia"

I stopped and turned around

Alex was walking up to me

"hey Alex"

"hey, about the project, do you have time to go over it?"

I checked my phone

I still have about an hour before meeting with Nathan

and we really need to go over all the parts of the project with Alex

I need a good grade

"yeah sure" I said

We sat down at one of the tables at the cafeteria

"so you did everything already?" I asked

he nodded

"good, me too"

we started going through everything

the project looks good so far

"I'll take everything you did and go over it once again later. I'll give you the final project, let's say, tomorrow?"

"okay great"

he handed me all the papers and I put them in my bag

I looked at the clock

Nathan's probably already waiting for me outside

I stood up and was about to leave when his voice stopped me

"one more thing" he said

"yeah?"

"do you already have a date for the school dance?"

well technically I don't

but I promised Nathan if he wins I'll go with him

and I never go back on my word

"actually I do"

his head lowered a little as a sad expression appeared on his face

"oh, good then, I hope you'll have a good time with them"

I didn't want to say anything more on this topic since I could tell that he wasn't pleased with my answer

"right then, I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow"

he waved me a goodbye as I left

when I walked out of the building I didn't spot Nathan anywhere

strange

I checked my phone

no notifications

where is he?

maybe he's already at the library
