Chapter 17

HER POV

After this morning's match me and Kate decided to go back to the dorms, order a takeout and do some school work since we still had a few hours until the celebration party

We were both looking forward to it, Kate more than me since she practically lives for the parties

She couldn't stop going on about how it feels like forever since she's been to one and how they better have her favourite drinks

her party enthusiasm soon stuck onto me too as I started getting more and more excited

I don't recall the last time I went to a party. I dedicate all my time to school and with everything that has been happening lately the thought of going to a party never even crossed my mind

however I'm letting loose tonight

I don't have any upcoming exams so it's the perfect time to do so

"we're so getting drunk tonight" she exclaimed as we were walking back to the dorms

Nathan and Isaac had to stay back so we agreed to meet later at the address that Isaac sent to Kate

"ugh I just know our heads will be exploding from all the headache tomorrow" I replied

I cringed at the thought of the last time I got brutally drunk

it's all fun until the morning after

I don't remember much from that time but Kate did tell me that I was blabbing nonsense half of the time

I just hope that tonight I won't do or say anything reckless

I entered the place where party was supposed to be held

It was a huge house with two stories and it was even more spacious then what it looked like from the outside

The place was dark, only light coming from disco balls that were hanging from the ceilings

numerous people were dancing, drinking, making out and so on

loud music was echoing through the whole place, making it hard to hear what people around you were saying

it was basically a frat party

"a few friends huh?" I said as I turned to Isaac and Nathan that were standing behind me

"our friends tend to know a lot of people" Isaac said

I noticed how Kate wasn't listening to our conversation at all as she was too occupied with her surroundings

her eyes were shining brightly and shifting from people on the dance floor to the drink stands that were placed in every room

"come on let's go get a drink" she said, not sparing me a glance as she just grabbed my arm and started heading towards the nearest drink stand

our path was suddenly blocked by two tall figures

"not so fast" Isaac said

she gave him the 'what' look

"I know you two have been to a tons of parties before but don't get too eager. There are mostly drunk guys in here so I don't want anything to happen to you two"

"you don't have to babysit us, we're totally capable of taking care of ourselves" Kate said

"okay we'll let you go on your own but we're meeting somewhere every two hours to check on each other, deal?"

it sounds like a pretty fair deal to me

she gave it a thought for a moment before she spoke up

"fine"
