"don't forget, the semester might be over in a few days but use the free time to read a book, get ahead with your work for next year or just do something more than just laying in bed all day" the professor said

I glanced over at Kate

We had the same expression on our faces

Why tell the same line every year when she knows damn well none of us will actually do any of those things

I muted her out of my head the moment Kate spoke up

"you nervous for today?"

"not really"

"so when is Nathan picking you up?"

"right after school"

"but how do you plan on hiding the tattoo from him if he's going to be there with you the whole time?"

"simple, he'll wait in the waiting room"

She gave me a bored look

"and you actually believe this?" she asked

"yes"

"well good luck with that, he's like a servant dog not being able to stay away from his owner"

"that's not true" I said defensive

"you know it is"

I turned away from her, not wanting to say anything back

A minute or two more passed by before the bell rang

Before I got up I checked my phone to see if I got any new notifications

MY NATHAN <3: "I'm outside your classroom"

That's a first

I quickly stood up, grabbed my things and walked to the exit of the classroom

The moment I stepped into the hall, I turned my head to the side

Nathan was leaning against the wall, a happy smile on his face, his eyes fixed on my face

"people would think you're more excited about this appointment than me" I joked

"of course I am, I get to hold your hand while you get it done"

"I told you already, you can't see it until it's fully done"

His smile dropped a little

"then I'll wear a blindfold" he said with a serious expression as he began walking, not leaving any room for argument

I followed after him

"so where's this tattoo studio anyway?" I asked after I caught up to him

"like half an hour drive away"

"that's not too far"

We made our way out of the school building, heading towards the parking lot

Nathan's car appeared in my sight right away, being the only black lexus

After we got closer he opened the car doors for me and gestured for me to get in

I sat down in the passenger's seat and waited for him to sit down behind the wheel

Once he did, we buckled up and drove off

I walked inside the tattoo studio

I took a good look around, walls full of cool designs, neon lights on the ceiling, giving off this gloomy yet warm aura
