Chapter 36

FRIDAY

I heard the sound of my alarm clock and let out an annoyed sigh

I opened my eyes but closed them back the moment the light began to bother me

I took in a deep breath, trying to get myself to get up

Wait a minute

I took another breath

Finally, I can breathe through my nose properly again after days

My nose's been runny for the past few days since I caught a cold

On tuesday, when me and Nathan got back to my room after running through the rain from the graveyard, I realised that I got sick

He stayed with me for the whole night and Kate brought me some cold medicine

When I woke up in the morning, Nathan was still there

I remember the confusion when I opened my eyes and saw him

A FEW DAYS AGO

"what are you doing here?" I asked confused, not knowing if I'm still dreaming or not

Nathan was standing before me, a hint of concern in his eyes and a cup in his hands

"I stayed here last night"

Oh right

We fell asleep in each other's arms, now I remember

I sat up and rubbed my eyes together

"I'm sorry, you probably missed your morning class because of me" I said

"it's okay, I wanted to stay here and wait for you to wake up"

I gave him a thankful smile

"here" he said as he sat down beside me and extended the cup in his hand towards me, gesturing for me to take it

"you made me tea?"

"yeah I went down to the cafeteria and asked the lunch ladies if they could make you some tea. I also put in some lemon and honey"

I took the cup in my hands and immediately felt the heat starting to spread through my hands

It's still so warm

I glanced over to my desk and found a bunch of cups just laying on top of it

"what's with all the cups?" I asked

"about that" he said as he nervously scratched the back of his head

I gave him the 'what' look

"I wanted the tea to still be hot for when you wake up and I've been up since 6am so every time the tea got cold, I just went to get a new one"

I couldn't help but to chuckle

"oh and don't worry, I drank the tea so it didn't go to waste" he added

I brought the cup to my mouth and took a sip

This is nice and the tea is delicious

"you feeling any better?" he asked

"a little"

"I want you to rest for today. I left the medicine on your nightstand, Kate will be back during lunch to bring you some food.
