SUNDAY"Gia, relax honey" my mom said
My mom and dad ended up coming back from my grandparents house this morning instead of tomorrow's evening
Neither Nathan nor me were here since we left my place yesterday morning
But my mom called yesterday and wanted to meet up since we haven't seen each other for quite some time now
I told her what's my plans for today and she insisted that I get dressed at our place so that we could still hang out a little
The first thing she noticed after I got here was my tattoo
I wore a crop top with no intent of hiding it from her
I expected her to go mad about it but she ended up saying and I quote 'you could get a bigger one, why hold back'
But it does make me wonder what she would think about Nathan's tattoo
"I can't relax until I find those earrings" I said, searching through my drawers
In just a few minutes Nathan is going to pick me up
I'm already all dressed, my hair is done, I put my makeup on but I can't find those hoop earrings for the love of God
"I think it's not so much about the earrings but the fact that you're a little nervous sweetheart"
I stopped poking through the drawers and turned to my mom
She's right
I walked over to my bed and sat down beside her
"it's just that I feel like this day is going to be hard on Nathan"
"that doesn't mean it needs to be hard on you too" she said softly
"but what if he gets in another argument with his dad and their relationship gets even more damaged?"
"is there something you can do to prevent that from happening?"
"not really"
"then you shouldn't worry about it"
I gave her a small smile
I just want everything to go well today
I really do
I suddenly heard the door bell
"looks like Nathan's here" my mom said, getting up
She walked over to the door of my bedroom and turned to me
"you coming?"
"I'll be down in a minute"
She just gave me a nod before leaving the room and heading downstairs
I looked back to my wardrobe and something caught my eye all of a sudden
It was the earrings I was looking for, lying on top of a cardboard box on one of the shelfs
I walked over to the wardrobe and took the earrings out of it
I turned to the mirror and began putting them on
My mom's right
Whatever happens today, I can't really do anything about it
But I hope for just one thing, that Nathan and his dad will finally get their closure
As I was walking down the stairs I didn't hear any voices coming from downstairs
I was assuming that my parents went into a living room to give me and Nathan some privacy
