HIS POV
THURSDAY
Notebooks, pens, snacks, water, skates, what else do I need?
PHONE
I glanced at my nightstand
My phone was still charging, facing down, my beautiful phone case showing
Fuck, I'm so happy
Today feels so much different, because today I don't have to think what to do to win Gia over, I have to think what to do to make her like me even more
That said, my happiness yesterday was easily detected by Isaac
He noticed me smiling like a jerk when I got back from the date and of course he started asking questions right away
He wanted to know all the details. Apparently him and Kate have been going on about whenever we've kissed yet or not
At least now he finally knows the answer to his question
I walked over to the nightstand and picked up my phone
I checked the notifications, seeing that I have 3 unread messages
One from my uncle and two from Gia's mom
I opened my uncle's first
UNCLE EVAN: "hey Nate, let me know when you're dropping by tomorrow"
I texted him back
ME: "around 4pm, right after school"
That's settled now
I left our chat and checked the messages that Gia's mom sent me
7.45pm
LIZ: "are you already back from the date?"
8.57pm
LIZ: "Gia's not picking up, I'm dying to know the details about the date, call me as soon as you see this"
When I got back yesterday I went straight to the shower and then to bed so I didn't really have time to check my phone
I better call her, she's been waiting for long enough
I clicked on the call button and she picked up after only two rings
"so? how did it go? did you pop the big question?" she asked all at once
It's funny how much her mom reminds me of a drama craving teenager
"It was perfect and yes, I did ask the big question" I answered
A loud gasp could be heard from the other side of the phone
"what did she say?"
"she said yes" I said, failing to stop the smile from forming on my face
"good, any other answer and I would need to have a serious talk with her"
If I ever doubted that her mom was the biggest fan of this relationship, I don't anymore
"she didn't say anything to you?" I asked
"no, she's probably still asleep"
I glanced at the clock
It's currently 8.15am
She doesn't have an early morning class today so she doesn't start with school for another hour
