Chapter 12

I stood there, not moving an inch as my thoughts began to race and I wasn't able to stop them

I honestly don't think I wanted to stop them in that moment

do I feel this way because of all of the adrenaline?

it must be that

"sorry that I just pulled you in the classroom like that, that must have took you by suprise" Nathan apologised, sracting the back of his head

He finally stepped back a little and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding

"it's okay"

what the hell was I just thinking right now?!

I need to shower myself in holy water when I get back to the dorms

his voice caused my attention to shift back to him

"do you think others got away?"

"let me check with Kate"

I took my phone out of the pocket, yes the dress actually has pockets. I found out about it only yesterday and I was more than pleased with my discovery

anyway, I texted Kate and waited for the response

A minute or so later my phone buzzed

KATE: "yeah, we got away, we are heading back to the dance hall with others"

I let out a sight of relief

"they're all good"

"should we go back then?"

I nodded

As I opened the door I couldn't help but to look right and left before walking out

"don't worry if he shows up again I'll just lift you up and carry you to safety" Nathan said with a cheeky smile

I laughed at his statement

I can't take him seriously when he says it like that

"what you don't believe me?"

"I doubt you cold run with me in your hands"

he looked a little offended for a moment but then started to bent down, trying to pick me up

I tried to stop him

"what are you doing?"

"I'm proving you wrong"

he tried to pick me up again but I quickly backed away

"okay okay I believe you"

his expression now changed to a proud one

this guy is like a little kid, so easy to please

"come on, stop messing around, we should join the others"

We hurried back to the dance hall

By the time we arrived the headmaster was already on the stage, giving his speech

From the happy look on his face, I could tell that he probably doesn't know about what happened earlier yet

I saw Kate and Isaac not far away in the crowd

She was giggling like crazy and he tried to stop her from letting out any loud noises

I bet she finds the whole thing with us almost getting caught funny

she can never stay serious in situations like this one

I know that I can't too, but this time I'm finding this whole situation more intimidating than funny
