Chapter 49

HER POV

FRIDAY

I woke up extra early today

The semester is over, leaving me with much more leisure time than before

But I can't afford any rest, not today

Tomorrow's the competition day

Nathan and I need to be in peak condition

Therefore we're spending the whole day at the ice rink

He offered to bring snacks and take me to dinner in the evening

I'm really looking forward to spending my whole day with him

I haven't seen him since tuesday

A blush spread across my cheeks as embarrassment hit me

The fact that I texted him that, making him think I got badly hurt and then proceeded to say such nonsense

The worst thing was when he showed me a video of me blabbing nonsense about giving him the moon

At least he wasn't in the room when I told my mom I want to marry him

It's not like I'm trying to keep it a secret from him but I don't mean for him to hear it that way

It was just embarrassing

But he thankfully didn't hear a thing since he arrived a few minutes after the conversation with my mom about marriage

Later that day I was discharged and then taken back to my dorms by Nathan

I've been taking some days off and just resting for the past few days so it's about time I leave this room

I packed my skates in my bag, took my phone out of the charger and got up

Kate left long ago

She has a date with Isaac today, to give him extra 'motivation' for tomorrow's game

She also told me not to wait for her when I get back so she'll probably come back some time early in the morning

I advanced towards the doors

I walked out of the room, closed and locked the doors behind me, before I began walking down the hall

As I walked out of the dorms building I was surprised to see that Nathan wasn't there

I just sat down at the stairs and waited for him

Minutes and minutes went by but he was still nowhere around

That's odd

We agreed to meet at 2pm and it's already 10 minutes past

I took my phone out of the bag and clicked on my chat with Nathan

He didn't leave me any new messages so I decided to text him

ME: "I'm outside the dorms, where are you?"

I was expecting for him to text me back but his name suddenly popped up on my screen, waiting for me to press the green button

I picked up and before I could say anything, he beat me to it

"I'm outside your room"

"what?"

"I've been knocking and waiting for the past 5 minutes"

I tried my best not to laugh as an image of him doing that painted before my eyes

He must have gone through the other staircase and we just missed each other
