Ice, Love and Everything in between

Chapter 42

MONDAY

Today is yet another day of boring classes ahead of me

The only thing I'm looking forward to is our ice skating practice with Nathan

We did quite a lot at our last practice

We managed to go over three of six tricks and spent a couple hours on the ice

We also had a talk about his dad

He suddenly came back into Nathan's life, inviting him to the wedding which I think it's just wrong

But Nathan decided to go since he believed he will get some kind of a closure that way

He even asked me to come with him and I agreed right away

There's no way I'm leaving him all by himself on a occasion like that

The wedding will take place in the city where he spent his childhood this sunday

I still don't know what to wear but I know one thing, Nathan will want to know so he can match to me

But sunday is still far away so that's a problem for later

Right now, I need to focus on this equation on the whiteboard before me

I've been staring at it then back to my notebook and my so called 'attempt to solve it'

I glanced at Kate beside me

She was scrolling through her phone, the equation already solved in her notebook

Why can't I be gifted like that?

I mentioned this before but Kate's really good when it comes to math

Her eyes suddenly looked up at me

"you having trouble?" she asked

I nodded

"you want me to help you out or do you wanna figure it out on your own?"

Before I could even say anything, the bell rang, announcing the end of the class

Not my problem anymore

I ignored the professor saying that we need to solve the equation by tomorrow and began packing my stuff into the bag

I waited for Kate to pack everything as well before we made our way out of the classroom

While we were walking down the hall, I took my phone out of the bag and checked my notifications

MY NATHAN <3: "hey, I have hockey practice after school so I can't walk you to the rink, sorry"

My heart ache a little when I realised that it's the practice for the hockey match against Theo

We didn't discuss that topic much after that day but I can tell it still bothers both of us

"so you having practice again today?" I heard Kate ask, causing me to look away from my phone and to her

"yeah, actually do you wanna go to the rink with me?" I asked

"sure, I get to see Isaac that way so that's just a bonus"

We made our way outside the school building

"oh right, how did the dinner with your parents go?" I asked

"it was great actually and they even called him 'a well put together boy'"

I gave her the 'you're kidding look'
