Chapter 13

TUESDAY AFTERNOON

I just got out of the bathroom

According to Kate I've been in there forever

It can't be helped. I had to take a long nice shower, wash my hair, brush my teeth, get dressed and so on

I woke up at 2pm so I've been awake for almost 2 hours now

"I'll get going now" Kate said, trying to get her shoes on

"where are you going again?"

"I'm going to get some food and then go study at the library"

"no Isaac today?"

she shook her head

"I'm having a geography exam soon, I need to pay full attention to it"

as if she won't be texting him the whole time while studying

"Me and Nathan won't meet up until around 5pm so I'll stay for a little longer"

"okay, have fun" she opened the door then turned back to me

"want to dine with me later?"

"yeah, sure. Come to the ice rink around 7.30pm, we should be done by then"

"oki doki" she then walked out, closing the door behind her

I landed back on my bed

distance myself from Nathan?

how the heck will that be possible when we have ice skating lessons twice a week and study sessions as well

And on top of that we need to move on today to a more complicated tricks, that just to my luck, include a lot of touching

I took a glance at my calendar

two months are left until the competition

I still can't believe all this is happening

I called my mom to tell her about it the other day and she ended up begging me to bring Nathan home so she could meet 'the nice gentleman who made my dreams come true'

Yeah, that won't happen

my phone suddenly started buzzing. I took it off the night stand and checked who's calling me

'mom <3'

"hey mom" I said picking up

"hey sweetie, how are you doing?"

"I'm okay, just a little tired"

"you stayed up late because of the school dance right?"

"yeah, until like 5 in the morning"

she was quiet for a while but then she spoke up again

"so who did you went with?"

"a friend"

"well this friend must have a name right?"

"mom" I said warningly

"oh I knew it, you went with Nathan didn't you?" she squealed

"no, I mean yeah, but what does that matter?"

"I'm so happy, your dad and I fell in love when I was your age too"

I cringed at her statement

"we're not in love"
