Chapter 21

HER POV

THURSDAY

I woke up a while ago but I'm still laying in bed

I decided to skip school today because my head still hurts like crazy

I hope the pain goes away soon. I really want to continue with ice skating practices as soon as possible

but since me and Nathan can't have one today, we'll study instead. He needs to do well on his repeat exam

His face suddenly flashed before my eyes

the look in his eyes from yesterday still lingers on my mind

I can't believe he actually blamed himself for what happened

He did promise me that he will no longer feel guilty for it, I sure hope he keeps his promise

Yesterday, after I woke up, the first thought that came to my mind was 'where is Nathan'

when I saw that I was laying in the hospital bed I got scared for a moment that he might have gotten hurt as well

Fortunately my worries were unnecessary

I was also suprised to see that my parents were there as well

I had a talk with both of them and had to promise that I won't try such risky tricks again

They also brought us food and it felt nice to be in their company again

But sadly, they couldn't stay long since dad had to go back home because of a work emergency

They did promise me another dinner though. And I had to promise to bring Nathan

He probably won't have to think twice before agreeing to go and since I know my mom, she probably already texted him about it

that woman will be the end of me

I heard the sound of a new notification come from my phone

I sat up and took a look at it, it was from Kate

KATE: "hey Gia, are you up already?"

The time was already 10.30am so Kate left for her first class about three hours ago

I quickly texted her back

ME: "yeah, have been for a while now"

not even a minute later she already replied

KATE: "great because you'll be having a visitor soon ;)"

uh, what?

I pressed the call button

After a few rings she picked up

"yes?"

"what do you mean a visitor?" I asked right away

I heard the sound of her giggling

"KATE"

"well I heard that you're having a study session with Nathan instead of practice today"

"yeah, so?"

"well I thought that since it's not good for you to move too much, why bother going to library when you could just study at our room"

My eyes widened at her words

"you didn't"

"oh I did"

unbelievable

I let out a sigh of frustration

"when?"
