In days before the order reigned
And jedis' works the council deigned
To only self they answer gave
With only self they met their graves.Unbidden still by any lord
Who bent their path to laws accord
To take or stay their martial course
Alone their bid by will of force. No senate ruled in such a day
And lawless acts the common way.
The strong alone are justice give
And weak by mighty still were bidIn all the ways of all their life
To work in fear of master's strife.
In times as such this tale is told
A village peasant men did holdBecame aware of bandit's scheme
To take whatever things they deemed
As soon as harvest came to end
And winter brings it's howling winds. And all the town to elder came
To tell the things the bandit's claimed
In hopes an answer man might find
To solve the village coming bind."My lord as soon as winter falls
Across these lands that long have sprawled
The bandits come to take our grain
And grant on head of peasant's pain.We ask your wisdom man may give
And ways of folk our path may bid.
To grant us stay from death that's brought
On heads by work of bandit's wrought."For long in silence elder sets
With calmest form that thoughts abet
And opens eye to sudden speak
And bid the men a soldier seek."The ways of war our kind don't work
Though such a thing has led to hurt
At many times before this day
We've bled for sake of peaceful ways. The time has come that men must fight
To save ourselves from bandit's spite
And keep the goods we long have held
Inside this land our forebears dwelled. But only path that man does know
To helps forestalling peasant's woe
Is grant by finding aid of those
Who wage the ways of war and woe.A warrior, peasant men must pay
A warrior, conflict hard must wage."Note here young probationers the romanticization of the archaic Jedi. He is represented in almost glowing terms. As one wandering the waste of the outer rim seeking out injustices to solve and merely serving as a vessel through which the force conducts its will. While we know the truth that the council serves an important role in directing and forestalling the actions of individual Jedi that might be imprudent. Hence the necessary criticism of such works.
