A Helpful Brute

Inside an inn the warrior's bode
Along the length of winding road
They took to go to place they fend
From many angry bandit men.

Inside they wait at length and bored
To start again on road to chore.
And hours past they bide their time
And little things distract their mind.

Like Varik dragging long his pipe
And resting still at chanced respite
His eyes now shut and wizened face
By little worry current graced.

Or Tarlson next to fire light
Who gazes long at flames so bright
A forlorn face that duty shows
Though sadness great it long has known.

And Sabio too himself now steals
To hone again his saber skills.
As often done on course they took
When Hestress Krell the group forsook.

And Cable ancient romance reads
That tells of yonder feudal deeds
And times now past but still then stayed
Of ancient knights and all their ways.

And Jubie at forest long does stare
Resentment mixed with longing care.
Like one accustomed to long abuse
May still yet care for one profuse.

And Calen man who leads their toop
And gathered all the men in group
A game of skill with Candor plays
As long as men in inn are bade

To stay at present time this night
Till morning comes along with flight.
Then sudden peasant man does come
Inside their hold with joyous thrum.

A man he brings along in tow
Inside the men's own present bode.

"My lords a man has come this night
Who wishes well to join your fight.
From Hestress Krell he track our course
And knows yet well the ways of force."

Behind him stood the brute in street
When Kelan made his dueling feat.
Who jumped with joy to see the sight
Of men yet locked in mortal fight...

It's intriguing the character of Cable is reading an ancient romance when that is what we would consider this text itself. I would be curious to know what stories abounded of the ancient Jedi who found themselves serving feudal lords.
