I was smiling at my phone when Mama asked me. Reu texted me after telling him I will be out for a meeting.

Reu:

I have a quick meeting this morning. Send me the address where you'll meet your client. I will fetch you.

Reu:

We'll date after.

"You're going out?" tanong ni Mama nang makita ako. She was sitting on a couch.

I smiled at her. "Opo, may meeting ako sa isang client ko."

Mabilis lang akong kumain. Pagkatapos ay agad din akong nagbihis. Chris then sent me the address where we will meet.

I immediately forward it to Reu. It took me twenty minutes to arrive at the restaurant. Pagdating ko, naroon na si Chris. He was wearing a black bottom down shirt with black slacks.

I looked at my wristwatch and saw I'm not even late. But still, I'm late because he's already here.

Chris chuckled. "No, I'm just early for this. You're not late, Architect."

I nodded and smiled at him.

It's when the waitress proceeded with our order when Chris looked at me. I looked at him confused. This is not how he usually does his meetings.

Now, it is different.

"How are you, Sierra?" he asked casually.

We never call each other first name bases. I always address him as Mr. Santos and he would address me as an architect. It shocked me now that he called me by my name.

Despite my confusion, I tried smiling at him.

"I'm fine. Shall we start the meeting?"

Chris shook his head and grinned at me. "This is not a meeting, Sierra. It's a date."

Nanlaki ang mata ko sa narinig. "You said it's a meeting?"

He chuckled weakly. "I'm sorry I lied. You're not responding to my texts whenever it's not about work… Kaya dinahilan kong meeting ito kahit date talaga," he said, smiling at me. "I hope you're not mad. We're both single so…" He shrugged his shoulders as if it's not a big deal.

I looked away. I bit my lower lip as I thought of how I am going to tell him I'm not single anymore. He dressed nicely and cut his hair. He was in such a good mood that I find it hard to tell him I have a boyfriend now.

"Are you mad?" he asked after my few minutes of awkward disposition.

I tried to smile and shook my head. Bahala na. I'll just consider this as a friendly date.

I responded to his inquiries. Anong hilig kong pagkain, color, what I'm doing every time I'm not working and etc. It continued even when we were eating.
