At last, Solène was able to wash off the grime that came with killing Mikael in the cemetery. She'd talked Klaus into dropping her off at her own apartment, and mentioned they could all talk tomorrow once she got her car. Although, she wasn't sure if Carter was still going to pick her up tomorrow. She'd upset him earlier when she was on the phone with him. That was a problem that could be dealt with later.
More pressingly, she suddenly had four soulmates and all of them were Mikaelsons. Niklaus had asked her if she believed in them, only to find out that they really do exist. The way Klaus described them to her didn't sound like the stereotypical soulmates, though. Was there really nothing more than the physical pull between soulmates? Had Nik left out information about them when he spoke to her? Learning soulmates exist was pretty heavy, but then she found out she was the soulmate to more than one vampire. Just what did that mean for her now?
It definitely meant there was no out for her, if she had wanted one. She was now tethered to all of the Mikaelson men, and hopefully friends with Rebekah. A sigh escaped her lips at the thought of the blond. Apparently, the jury was still out on Solène despite how funny the sister found the situation. She'd happily hand her brothers over for someone else to deal with, but she was more careful when it came to who she allowed to be her friend. The youngest Mikaelson had been burned to many times in the past by her 'friends,' and she wasn't going to be careless this time.
Now out of the shower, she spotted a text from Niklaus asking if she made it home safely. She hesitated to answer. It was so much think about. She wasn't against soulmates; everything she said to Niklaus still remains her current sentiment about them. As long as the tie didn't affect her feelings, she had no issue with soulmates. She wanted something real, not some bond that says they have to take care of one another. Never again would she have a relationship like that.
The next morning she make some cookies before getting ready for the day; deciding last minute she wanted to make the siblings cookies as a 'welcome back, I'm glad you're awake.' She went safe with a batch of chocolate chip cookies, not worrying about possible allergies, since it was impossible with the vampire siblings. Once those were packed away in her purse, she checked her phone.
Nothing from Carter about him coming down. It was nearly noon. He should've arrived already. Calling his cellphone, she was immediately sent to voicemail. Did he turn his phone off?
Her anger flared. They'd had this day planned over for over a week to go pick up her car. Thumb tapping at her phone, she found herself dialing Niklaus' number. He did have a car... and she needed a ride, badly. After this, she wouldn't have to ask for rides anymore.
"Hello, love. What a lovely surprise." His voice directly in her ear sent jolts to her heart.
"I was wondering if you were free. I need a ride to pick up my car a few towns over..." Her voice trailed off, finding herself embarrassed.
"Carter isn't taking you?" Niklaus spoke his name with clear distaste.
"He's not answering his phone, and I'm not waiting around for him. I need to get my car."
"I'll be there soon, Little Witch."
When Nik said he'd show up soon, she hadn't expected him to show up in a car full of his siblings, let alone in a soccer mom van. "Klaus, what is with this godawful van?"
"It was the only car we had to fit the lot of us. It belongs to one of my hybrids."
"And did you ask to borrow it?" She eyed him down.
"Of course, love. Now, get in." He waved his hand to her. Inside the van, Finn was sitting in the passenger seat, Rebekah and Elijah in the two side seats, and Kol waiting for her in the back row.
"I've been eager to see you, my darling. Nik tells us you are very knowledgable on our family. You're also a witch," Kol beamed at her supernatural status. He'd really missed his magic, but now his soulmate was a witch. It was truly meant to be. He thought, perhaps, this was the world's apology for taking his magic away.
"A siphon, actually. They don't have any magic of their own. We have to take it from others or objects first before we can do magic."
Kol was interested in the new information, never had he come across a siphon before. Which he mentioned to Solène who nodded. "Witches see siphons as abominations. Most of them are dead. If they find out about me, they'll most likely try to kill me, too." The air in the car grew tense, not that Sol noticed. "I do know of one siphon, however. If I could... track him down, I'm sure he could help me learn how to be a good siphon."
She was not entirely telling the truth as she wasn't positive Kai would help her if she got him out of the prison world. She already hangs out with the Mikaelsons, what's one more murderer friend? Perhaps she could tell him about heretics as payment. It was hard to imagine Kai not excited about having a constant course of magic. Would he try to go kill the rest of his family though?
Truthfully, she didn't care about any of the other Parker family members. Jo was okay, she was cute with Alaric, but the rest weren't really entertaining to her. Did their lives really mean so little to her? Maybe she could barter? His siblings live, the rest of the coven can die? The Merge would be a problem though... and Jo has twins later... It's not her problem. The women mental shrugged, pushing away the thoughts about the coven.
If anything, her soulmates could help rein him in, no? Her eyes scanned the people in the van. These were her people now, her soulmates and hopefully soon-to-be-best friend, and that thought only elated her.
"We can find them for you!" Kol offered eagerly, wanting to see magic once more; more specifically, seeing his soulmate perform magic. His excitement caught Solène off guard. This was starkly different from what he was like in the show.
"Klaus," her tone held her suspicion. "Did you not mention something about soulmates when we spoke yesterday?"
"Well, there may have been one thing I left out."
