Mr. Henderson had no problem complying with Niklaus' demand. Transferring Tracy to a new class was easy enough, seeing she was the instigator of this incident. He'd also explained that for using such language, and speaking about Maya's family in that way, Tracy would receive three weeks of in school suspension, which would take place during recess.

Joanna Claremont was irate at her daughter's punishment, claiming it to be unfair. However, the principal quickly stopped her. "Mrs. Claremont, it's not the first time your daughter has gotten into trouble because she's said something rude. Perhaps you should take care as to what your daughter is learning. Most behaviors and vocabulary are learned at home." The woman flushed red with anger and embarrassment.

Not giving her a chance to respond, he turned to the other family. "As for Maya, typically two weeks in school suspension would follow a physical assault. Taking the severity of the words spoken baby Ms. Claremont today, and Maya never having been involved in a previous altercation, I will reduce it to a week."

"A week?!" Joanna protested the light punishment given, but Mr. Henderson ignored the woman.

"These suspensions will be served separately to avoid any further incidents. Now, unless you have other matters to discuss, or further questions, I think it's time to send the girls back to class." There were a couple classes left before the day ended; he saw no reason to send them both home early. Joanna wanted to protest further, but seemed to understand she would only be ignored again. On the other side, the Mikaelson's and Sol seemed appeased with the actions he was taking. At the silence, he continued, "Then, I will give you a few minutes to say goodbye." He rose from his seat, striding out of the office.

Nik and Kol moved first, each compelling the mother daughter pair to leave them alone from then on. Sol sighed, unable to stop them. Maya looked at them confused, wondering why they agreed so easily. Then, she remembered her mother tell her that the boys were quite good at getting people to agree with them. She vaguely wondered if they were good at magic.

Watching the two leave the office, Sol looked at the younger boys. "Was that really necessary?"

"Absolutely." Kol nodded without a doubt. "How could we let such vile humans be around our daughter?"

"Humans?" Maya muttered, furrowing her brow at his word choice.

Nik paid no mind to it, adding in his piece, "I agree with Kol, for once. With their actions, they should be pleased to still be breathing."

"Niklaus," Elijah chided before looking over to their daughter. "Are you alright, my dear? Pay no mind to that girl's words. She doesn't understand how we live. Not many will, so there will probably be others who will speak heinous words about us. While what you did today was valiant, you cannot go around hitting everyone who speaks badly about us."

A brow subconsciously raised at his 'bigger' words, not completely understanding what he was saying to her. Solène chuckled, kneeling down beside her once more.

"We're all very proud of you for wanting to protect us, Maya. But like Elijah said, you can go hitting everyone who says mean things about us."

"So am I in trouble?" Her muttered words shot everyone in the heart, wanting to hold her close. How could they possible punish her when she believed she was protecting her family?

The parents quickly looked around, taking a silent tally. With everyone shaking their heads, Sol smiled. "No, sweetie, not this time... Can I have a hug?" A playful look over took the woman's features as she opened her arms.

Maya fell into her arms, wrapping her arms tightly around the woman's neck. "Oh, my baby." Sol murmured, rubbing the small girl's back. Holding her for a few moments, she gave the girl one last squeeze. "Alright, tell your dads goodbye. It's about time you get back to class."

Silently, she watched on as each brother knelt down to hug Maya and place a kiss on her forehead. Finn spoke more encouraging words, like Elijah had previously done. Nik and Kol were more aggressive.

"If you have trouble with anyone else..." Niklaus trailed off, thinking of the various ways he could get rid of the problems his daughter faced.

"Let us know. We'll help deal with it. Maybe I can show you how to get back at them, too." The mischievous glint sparked in Kol's eyes, prompting Sol to move.

"Alright, that's enough, Kol." She placed her hands onto Maya shoulders. "It's Kai's turn to pick you up today," a smile pulled at her lips. "Perhaps you can talk him into getting milkshakes on his way home."

Maya, turns out, was a huge fan of milkshakes. Kai liked them, as well. However, he was still a little awkward around the child. He never knew what to say or do around someone so young. Having not been on good terms with his siblings, getting along with young children became a struggle for him. If he was going to become a father, Kai knew that this was something he would have to get past.

Maya could tell Kai wasn't entirely comfortable around her, but she still enjoyed spending time with him. Sometimes, she could get him to tell her a fantasy story about the herbs he and Solène kept in their 'work' room. He'd always mention witches and warlocks, vampires, and werewolves. She'd wonder how he could come up with all of these stories, but he'd always chuckle when she asked. Inevitably, Maya would pout and Kai would appease her with a new story. One time, she asked if he had any stories about dragons and he laughed really hard. It made her feel embarrassed, and Sol smacked Kai on the back of his head to make him stop laughing.

Waving as Maya walked down the hall to her class, she took Finn's hand in her own. Kol was the first to notice, scooping up her other hand for his own. Sol laughed at his antics, but didn't pull away from him. Instead, she tugged him closer and placed a quick kiss on his hand.

"Let's go home shall we?" She started to walk out of the building, the same way they entered.

"We should tell Maya, right?" Her voice was sudden as they were silently walking through the doorway, having just arrived home. "I mean, about everything. That Kai's stories are exactly stories. And that we're going to be trying to have kids. We need to make sure she knows that we're only expanding the family, not that we've grown tired of her or whatever her creative brain comes up with." Her heart ached at the thought of Maya holding them in the same light as her previous parents —- people that wanted to get rid of her. With her having gotten in trouble today, that would only amplify the feeling of impending abandonment.

"I agree, my dear, but perhaps we should wait a day or two. Let her calm down from this fight she's had." Finn offered, looking to his brothers for input.

"Allowing her some time to relax would be the best option." Elijah removed his suit jacket, rolling up his shirt sleeves.

"She does like to come up with crazy stories, too. I suppose it's best." Kol tilted his head, thinking back to a story she'd once shared with him about a princess who was secretly plotting her father's death to take his throne since he wasn't doing his job properly. He'd wondered if she'd heard it somewhere, or perhaps read it in a book before.

Nik nodded, "With that temper, speaking to her while she's upset would be pointless."

Sol smiled, loving the growth she was seeing from her soulmates before allowing playful smirk to grow on her lips. "You'd know that best, right, Nik?"
