Solène was slouched on the couch next to Rebekah, half asleep. It was becoming more difficult to keep her eyes open. The two girls had been gossiping about anything they could think of, Sol going off on a long rant about the dynamics between Elena and her gang, mostly the Salvatore brothers. She found that because it annoyed her so much, she remembered more details than she liked about the love triangle.
Her rant had also brought about thoughts of Katherine Pierce, which only annoyed her more. She respected that Kathrine did what it took for her to survive, but she's also made her bed and must lie in it now. It certainly didn't help her case that she had a history with Elijah and Nik. Thinking about Elijah and Nik looking at her with those eyes of theirs, her grip tightened on her spoon. Barely able to hold up her ice cream carton anymore, Rebekah took that and the spoon from her.
Before she could process it, she was being lifted into the air. Her head fell back, making a partial profile visible of the person holding her. "'Lijah," she muttered, pushing her head into his chest. "Don't think of her anymore. She's selfish. All of the doppelgängers are," Sol muttered nearly incoherently, but her soulmate managed to make out her words with ease. Her tired brain showed her images of Elijah being soft for Katherine with whatever little affection he had left for her over the centuries.
Being placed onto a bed, she hazily watched Elijah while she fought sleep. "Do not worry yourself with trivial things. Katerina will get what is coming to her. You, my dear, are all I need— all I want."
A smile made its way across her lips. Grabbing Elijah's hand, she placed a small kiss to it; silently thanking him for the reassurance, she finally let sleep take over.
Solène woke up the next morning to Rebekah's shouting. Groaning, she noticed Elijah had left her door cracked. Deciding Rebekah probably wouldn't stop yelling anytime soon, she crawled out of bed, taking a throw blanket with her. Stepping out of her room, she wrapped the blanket around her and rubbed her sleepy eyes.
Standing at the top of the steps, she looked down to the door where she found Rebekah facing a red-head. A gasp escaped her lips as she placed the face.
"Sage," she breathed, both vampires looking at her.
"Sol, you know about the harlot, too?" That seemed to anger Rebekah more, knowing her presence would upset not only Finn, but Solène as well.
"And who are you?" Sage raised her chin in a show of superiority. Sol felt her stomach twisting. There was no reason for her to feel insecure, she knew the bond was strong between soulmates, yet last night she had shown insecurity to Elijah. Now, Sage was on their doorstep— Finn's only lover. Would he fight the soul bond for her?
Seeing an internal struggle in Sol, Rebekah answered for the woman. "She is much more important than you. At least she's wanted here. I can't say the same about you, slag." Her words halted Sol's struggle.
With a sigh, she looked back to Rebekah. "Beks, please, be civil. I'll go wake Finn." She made off quickly, wanting this to be over with. Unease coursing through her veins as she desperately wanted the woman gone. She came to take Finn— her Finn. Her sweet Finn who was still learning about the world. Tears pricked her eyes at the thought of him deciding to go with Sage.
It nearly made her laugh, how she'd forgotten about Sage. She should've known that the woman would come in search of her lover. What was she to do in this situation? She told Rebekah to be civil, but could she do the same with the threat of Finn's abandonment loomed in her mind?
Pushing open the man's door, knocking as she did, she peered inside. The eldest Mikaelson was lying on his stomach, arms wrapped underneath his pillow. She approached his bed, pulling her blanket tighter around her body.
