After breakfast the next day, Kai and Sol were sat at the dining table, with two piles of lapis lazuli jewelry. The blinds were wide open, bathing the table in sunlight. Sol had enlisted Kai's help in making the decent sized pouch Nik had given her of the jewelry into daylight jewelry.
Kol was the most interested, having been watching his soulmate on the sidelines. He watched her eyes light up at a specific ring before she spelled it, slipping it onto her own finger afterwards. The Mikaelson paused. Had she just made herself a daylight ring? While she's still human?
"What're you up to, darling?" He finally placed himself in the seat beside her, a pile of spelled jewelry in front of him on the table.
"Kai and I are making daylight jewelry. I'm going to sell it and make millions!" Her face beamed at her genius idea. "I promised Kai half if he helped spell the jewelry." She flippantly waved her hand before Kol caught it, examining the ring she slid onto her left ring finger.
"And this one?" He had a cheeky grin when he looked at her, but his eyes were full of hope. No one spoke about it, but the reality was that Sol was human, a witch. She'd be doomed to lose her magic if she became a vampire. Was she willing to give that all up for them?
"Ah! That reminds me," her head perked before looking to Kai, who was pushing a necklace into the spelled pile. "You should pick one out, too, Kai. For the future."
"What future? I won't need one since I'm not becoming a vampire." His head shook. No way he'd give up his magic for anything or anyone.
Sol pouted, puffing her cheeks for a moment before letting out the air. "You wouldn't have to give up your magic. Us siphons will keep our magic if we become vampires. It'd also give make us our own source of magic. This type of hybrid is called a 'heretic.'" She leaned forward with a big smile on her face, watching Kai's expression shift to one of shock and amazement.
Beside her, Kol's had done the same. She would be able to keep her magic? She wouldn't have to give up anything to be with them? It made his chest feel warm. It would've hurt to ask her to give up her magic, as he knows how it feels to lose it.
Trying to act nonchalant, Kai shrugged. "I suppose having one wouldn't be so bad." His eyes scanned the two piles before finding a silver band with a loop of lapis lazuli around the center. Pulling it from the un-spelled pile, he repeated the spell; one he knew by heart at this point.
"This would also be a good time to give you these," Elijah appeared in the door way, two necklaces in his hand. Sol cheered as she ran over to hug him, placing a kiss on his cheek.
"Thank you! Thank you!" She repeated, taking a look at the necklaces. Kai's was flat and pendant like, gemstones outlining the shape his pendant took. Sol's was more locket looking. A plain circle that was outlined in gemstones, similar to Kai's.
Gently taking them, she held out Kai's pendant. "Here, you can store magic in it, and it won't fade over time like it does for us." The siphon's eyes widened at the woman. She was giving him this as a gift? He'd hadn't even been here for twenty-four hours, and he liked it much more than his two previous homes. One being with his family, the other in his Prison World. In this mansion, he was never judged; teased, absolutely, but they never made him feel bad about himself or his actions. Not that he really could do so in the first place, however, he also felt accepted. Something he'd never felt with his family.
While Kai latched the necklace himself, Elijah had taken Sol's back to put it on for her. The two admired their talismans before looking to the vampires in the room. "Mind if we charge up?"
The Mikaelsons, of course, obliged. The two siphons took as much as they safely could before stopping. Kai smiled, ecstatic about his new possession. There is so much he could do with all the power he could now safely store up. First, though, he had to finish helping Sol to avoid getting nagged by her, or worse, the Mikaelson brothers.
Without a word, Kai got back to work, ignoring Elijah as he began to ask questions. "You said you wanted to sell these?" He'd obviously heard the conversation from inside the house as his bedroom door wasn't closed.
"Yes! Think of how much the older vampires would spend to be able to walk in the day! Easy money! I do need help getting the word out there. A website needs made, too. A way of delivery as well. You think there is a spell for that? Surely, right? Then, I'll need to complete all the legalities of business owning... unless you wanna help out with some compulsion?" She shyly looked up at her two present soulmates, hoping they'd help her set us her business. Once it was, she would have her own hefty income, and not have to heavily rely on the Mikaelson's for things. Niklaus mentioned her moving into the mansion last night, when she was comfortable, and she wasn't opposed to the idea. However, she still did want to be earning some kind of income to contribute to the family. It wasn't fair if they were only taking care of her, and she did nothing in return.
Of course she had no idea how much they just loved being in her presence. Her baking was pretty amazing, too. Her smile and laugh, that crazy game she played with the Scooby gang. The way she just made them feel warm and loved with her small actions. Baking for them, worrying about their feelings and their relationships with their other siblings. She was doing all these things for them without even realizing it.
"Of course we'll help you, my dear. I should have no problem spreading the word once everything is all set up. Niklaus would probably be the best to ask to find someone to create your website." Elijah stuck a hand into his pant pocket, his other hand waving in the air.
"I can help you find an item displacement spell that would work for your deliveries." Kol jumped in, eager to help his soulmate with her business.
"I actually already know a spell. It can be easily tweaked to fit our purpose," Kai looked up from a bracelet he swiped into the finished pile. Narrowing his eyes at the siphon, Kol had to refrain from attacking the man.
"Perhaps you could help set up some bank accounts?" Sol smiled at Kol. "Kai's been 22 for awhile, so his ID wouldn't exactly be accurate... if he still had one, that is. He'll need a bank account for his share of the profits. It would also be suspicious if I just dropped a large sum into my minimum wage checking account." Her brows furrowed, exaggerating how annoying the problem was.
"It'll be done by evening, darling. Don't you worry about a thing." He placed a kiss on her temple before running out of the house. Once he was gone, her features relaxed and she smiled at Elijah.
"I'll let you know when everything is set up."
Elijah excused himself, not wanting to disrupt the siphons work any further. Once he was gone, Kai smirked at Sol.
"You've really got them wrapped around your finger, huh? Must be nice to have it so easy." He slumped in his chair, pausing his work.
"No, it's a healthy relationship. We help each other out. Kol only wants to help, and so I asked him for help. It's that simple." Sol spoke sternly, not liking what Kai was subtly implying. "I imagine you'll be the same way with Rebekah soon. Maybe you won't be such a dick then." Her tone was suddenly playful.
Sometimes, Sol could give Kai whiplash with her back and forth, but he still didn't appreciate the teasing. Thus, his eyes narrowed at her. "If I ever act like Kol, I need you to kill me." Kai surprised himself when he began to joke along with her. He wasn't quite sure how to feel about Sol's eyes brightening up at his words.
"As if I could kill Rebekah's soulmate. She wouldn't be friends with me anymore if I did."
Kai was flabbergasted. "That's what you're worried about?"
"Of course. She's my best friend." Sol stated simply, her shoulders lifting and falling quickly.
"Unbelievable."
