Kol had been the first to wake. Knowing full well of his murderous history, Solène leaned closer to the Mikaelson she knew wouldn't kill her. She was carrying his soul after all. He'd protect her because of that, right?
"Is this your newest plaything, brother?" Kol tilted his head as he took in the woman's appearance, brows knitting as he felt an odd sensation. "Where did you find her?" Hoping to find a clue behind the strange feeling he was experiencing.
"She's off-limits, Kol. She's not a plaything." Klaus sternly clarified, releasing tension from Solène's shoulders. She wanted to help the Mikaelsons, but they were vampires and Kol quite enjoyed killing. If she was dead, she wouldn't be able to help much.
"You know that only makes me want to play even more," Kol taunted, clearly amused at the situation. Niklaus had someone he wanted to protect, a weakness, and Kol would not miss the opportunity.
Klaus repeated his brothers name with a warning tone, but he only smirked in response. Swallowing her nervousness, Solène stepped forwards towards the younger brother, holding out her hand. "I'm Solène Griffith. Friends call me Sol."
Curiosity clearly piqued, he grabbed her hand and a jolt when through his body. "Kol Mikaelson, my dear. Now, how do you know my brother?" He could smell that she was human, but Niklaus rarely let the humans around him live for long.
"Met at the bar where I work," Sol shrugged, not catching Kol's jolt at their contact. Niklaus, however, noticed. He pulled the woman back to his side, staring down his brother. Nik had a bad feeling.
Elijah was the next to wake, shooting up with a gasp and quickly taking in his surroundings. Seeing his two brothers with an unfamiliar woman threw him for a loop. His brothers seemed to, for the most part, be calmly conversing while Niklaus had a protective stance beside the woman.
Elijah took in the woman's appearance, all the way down to the color of her eyes and the light freckles splashed on her cheeks and nose.
Stepping out of his coffin, he stepped towards the three who were still glaring at one another. His gaze never left Sol as he stopped next to Kol.
The witch's eyes lit up seeing Elijah awake. Admittedly, she liked him just a teeny bit more than the other brothers, but the show's portrayal of him played a big part in that. Elijah can't bring himself to truly harm his family, in his own way, of course. She didn't forget about him compelling Lucien Castle, Tristan and Aurora de Martel— Klaus' first love after being a vampire.
"Elijah," Sol breathed out, amusing Kol further as a smile grew on her lips. Solène had shown up with one brother, but seemed more enamored in another. The second eldest found himself drawn to the young woman, and having heard stories, he paused.
Klaus grabbed the witch's forearm as he stared down his brothers. The situation seemed to only grow worse with each sibling that woke up. Perhaps he had made a mistake listening to Sol.
"Fighting over a girl already?" A feminine voice spoke from the side of the small group.
A gasp escaped the young human's lips. "Rebekah!" She walked over as the vampire stepped out of her coffin. "I'm Solène Griffith. Could we be friends?" Her expression was beaming with excitement as she looked at the blond. Rebekah was confused, stealing a glance back to her brothers who all looked upset, and her confusion became amusement.
"Oh, and what of my brothers?" She asked, holding back a smile. "Are you not with them?"
"Hm?" Sol's head tilted to the side. "What about them?" Sure, she was maybe friends with Niklaus, but it was more like she was the help since she had knowledge of the future. What she really wanted was to be friends with Rebekah who burst into a laughing fit.
The shocked looks on Niklaus' face only made Rebekah laugh harder. "Little Witch, here I thought we were friends." He pulled the woman's attention back to him, not wanting her to pay any more attention to his siblings. He would not be sharing his soulmate with them, absolutely not.
She wanted to respond, to counter his statement, but another voice sounded throughout the small room. "What's so funny, sister?" Finn, who finally woke, heard the conversation, but didn't understand what his little sister found so hilarious.
"You're finally awake!" Solène smiled, meeting Finn's soft gaze. He'd recognized her voice as the one who spoke to him before he woke up. Her voice had called to him in a way he'd never experienced before. You've slept long enough, she had told him. Yes, he had. Finn agreed with the unfamiliar woman, grateful she'd removed the dagger, seeing as none of his siblings were keen to do the same over the centuries.
"Indeed," he finally responded, nodding once before climbing out of his coffin.
"Well, now that you all are awake," Solène's words were cut off by her phone ringing in her back pocket. Groaning she pulled it out to answer the call, confusing Finn who'd never seen a phone before. "Sorry," she said quickly, not bothering to move as they'd likely hear the call anyways. "Hello?"
"Sol, hey. I was wondering if you wanted to come up this evening. We could go on a date before we pick up your car tomorrow."
She cringed, all of the Mikaelsons picking up on it. Her plans with Carter to pick up her car totally slipped her mind in all the chaos that's been happening. "You don't have practice? You said you had a game coming up." Clearly, she was not in the mood to have a date, nor did she want Carter to meet the Mikaelson's.
"I asked Coach if I could make up for it after we get your car."
She sighed, pressing a hand to her forehead. "Just go to practice, Carter. Don't worry about me." Her eyes fell shut, wanting this conversation to be over before a Mikaelson gets bored and tries to kill someone, maybe her.
"You don't want to go out?" He sounded offended at her rejection.
"Not right now, no. Go to practice." She spoke quickly before hanging up the phone.
"That's the boyfriend, isn't it?" Klaus asked, tilting his head.
"Boyfriend?" Kol nearly hissed. "My soulmate has a boyfriend?"
"Your soulmate?" Niklaus looked at his younger brother, baffled at his statement. "She my soulmate, brother."
"No, I do believe she is my soulmate," Elijah interjected. "Please don't delude yourself into thinking she is your soulmate, either of you." His eyes moved between Klaus and Kol.
Rebekah was in a fit of giggles over the new information. Finn, however, was still confused. He had not been awake long enough to discover what a soulmate is, and so Solène took a moment to explain what Klaus had told her about vampires souls splitting off and finding a new body to live in. Once she finished explaining the physical pull that the two felt Finn turned towards his brothers.
"I'm sorry, but I do believe this lady to be my soulmate."
Rebekah laughed even harder, finding enjoyment in her brothers finding out they share a soulmate; her brothers who loathe sharing. It was after Finn's words that the weight of all the brothers admissions really landed for her.
"You're- You're joking, right? I can't possibly be caring a piece of all of your souls, save Rebekah." She mumbled the laughing blonds' name. "Is that even possible?"
"You tell us, darling." Kol ignored his sister. "Do you feel that pull to each of us?"
Her mouth went dry, mind feeling scattered. Finn rested a supportive hand on her shoulder and offered a small smile. Effectively calming the young woman, she took a deep breath. She wasn't quite sure what she was doing, but she just let herself feel. More than once, she experienced not wanting to part from Klaus. It was her belief that those feelings were because of the show she'd watched in her past life, but now they'd taken on a whole new meaning. To discover whether she felt the same about the others, she imagined them all leaving her, never to return, or perhaps they'd found a way to remove her memories of them.
Kol's question was answered when Solène's eyes opened and a tear fell down to her cheek.
