Thank you dsouzadeon17 for helping me with the drama of this chapter.

It took all of Sol's concentration to not scrunch up her face while Rebekah applied the make up. "Beks, is this really necessary? Not to mention, we're late to out own ball."

"Of course it's necessary. Think of it as an accessory; it only adds to your beauty. We'll be fashionably late. Do not worry, we've done this for centuries." Rebekah's head shook, hand paused as she talked.

Resuming her work, the vampire gently brushed on the highlighter down the bridge of Sol's nose. The siphon didn't really like make up, it felt heavy on her face during her last life. She'd never bothered to purchase any in this life, but if she'd to continue her friendship with Rebekah, Sol supposed she should get used to the products on her face. If the Mikaelson sister wanted to put make up on her face, so be it. She'd happily allow her to do, it would just take some intense focus.

Once the her work was done, Rebekah laid down the brush in her hand. "There, gorgeous." The two smile at each other, hair and make up done, before moving to slip into their dresses. Having help with the buttons on the back of her , Sol was ready to enter the ball. Once Rebekah's dress was zipped, the two were out the door.

They found the men waiting for them in the hall. Kai looked at Rebekah and tried to find the right words to say. He cleared his throat, buying more time to think. He wanted to compliment her, say that she looked nice, at the very least, but it was hard for him to get the words out.

"You look magnificent, my dear," Finn placed a delicate kiss to het temple.

"I would've gone with ethereal to describe you, darling." Kol jumped in, placing a kiss on her cheek before smirking to his eldest brother. Sol chuckled at Kol's antics. With compliments from the two middle boys, paired with kisses, the six of them were off to greet their guests.

Lined up from the oldest to youngest, Sol in-between the four boys, and Kai on the end, Elijah called the attention of the guests. "Thank you all so much for attending our ball. Since we plan on staying in Mystic Falls for awhile, we wanted to formally introduce ourselves to everyone. Please, enjoy the food and drinks. Later, the dancing shall begin."

His words came out so naturally and elegantly. He also didn't apologize for their lateness, a perk of being the hosts, Sol guessed. Descending the steps, her eyes fell on someone she thought she'd never see again, let alone in the Mikaelson's mansion. Her eyes narrowed, a huff escaping her lips which caught her family's attention. Nik was the one to follow her gaze, spotting the familiar man. He'd only met him once, but his presence pissed him off.

"Carter," Solène gritted, approaching the man who was crossing his arms over his chest. "Who let you in?"

"Daniel said he had a plus one to rich family's party. Imagine my surprise when it's hosted by your sugar daddies."

Sol rolled her eyes at the man's name. Of course it would be Daniel, Carter's cousin. The two are as close as brothers. However, that wasn't her biggest annoyance right now. Not only did she have super life-threatening plans this evening, but he called her a sugar baby. Now, being a sugar baby is not a bad thing, but Carter was doing it to indirectly call her a gold digging whore. She could tell by his harsh tone and judging glare.

"They're my boyfriends. Have you never heard of a polyamorous relationship? Also, I provide for myself. I'll admit, they did help me start my business. However, now it's mine and I make plenty on my own."

"And you don't think it's weird to be dating four brothers?" His question was loud enough to catch the attention of those in the immediate vicinity. "It's weird, Sol, and gross."

"Gross, how? I assume you're trying to imply the boys are also interested in one another, which is taboo. I'm pretty sure they'd rather gouge out their eyes than be interested in each other that way. The only thing gross here, is you Carter. An ex-boyfriend trying to meddle in his exes new, healthy relationship."

Carter's jaw tightened, eyes searching around as he tried to find something new to say. "And this one? Is he another boyfriend?" His eyes trained on Kai.

"No, this one would be mine." Rebekah sneered at Carter. Kai felt a fuzzy warmth overtake his chest at the words. Still unsure of his words, he wrapped and arm around Rebekah's waist with a smirk on his lips.

"That's disgusting," Sol's nose crinkled before turning to Kai. "No offense, but your like a brother." Looking back to her ex, she narrowed her eyes. "The point is Carter, you're the odd one here. We're happily together. You're the bitter ex trying to sabotage our relationship, to embarrass us at our own party. Either shut your mouth, or drive back to that little dorm room of yours where I'm sure you have a girl waiting for you. Who is it this time? Maddie? Tracie? Hannah, perhaps?"

The guests quickly began to whisper in hushed tones about the situation. They were agreeing with Solène for a majority of the whispers. Of course, some found a polyamorous relationship with brothers a bit strange, but they clearly weren't alltogether. They simply shared a girlfriend. It was not common, but certainly not taboo. Some were making jokes about Carter's bitterness over being dumped for four rich brothers.

"I'm the odd one? You're opening your legs for a set of brothers!"

"Even if I was, what business is it of yours now? Didn't you pull down your pants for every girl you could while we were together? It's one of the reasons I wouldn't 'spread my legs' for you. Now, shall we continue to air out more of your dirty laundry in front of the guests, or will you finally be quiet for once? I have nothing to be embarrassed about. I can't say the same about you."

The Mikaelson brother's loved seeing Sol stand up for herself to the person she once dated. Although she wasn't deeply attached to the man, he was once associated with her. How could she have put up with him the whole time they were together? They found him to be absolutely obnoxious. Kol was itching to kill him and get it over with. That way, they'd never have to see him again. After a shared look with Niklaus, it was clear that he was thinking the same thing. Finn and Elijah just wanted to kick the soccer player out of the party, and compel him to never come back to their home. The place their soulmate would be living soon.

"You've made me a joke to my teammates!" Carter hissed, finally lowering his voice. "Why shouldn't I do the same to you?"

"Because you can't." Sol shrugged simply. "As I explained a second ago. I'm embarrassed of nothing."

Kol leaned forward over her shoulder, an impish smirk on his lips. "That's not entirely true, darling." His breath his the shell of her ear, Kol's gaze meeting Carter's with a mischievous glint. "You were quite embarrassed when you discovered we could hear you an Nik making out," Sol quickly cut his word of, cheeks becoming a soft pink.

"Kol, honey, now is not the time." She spoke almost pleadingly as she held his face his her hands.

Stealing a quick kiss from her lips, he smiled with satisfaction. "Alright, I'll save it for later then. I think it's my turn for a hot make out. Don't you think so, my love?" He leaned forwards again, before Sol pushed her hands further into his cheeks.

"Not with this attitude," she teased, not noticing Carter storming away from her family.
