IT STARTED WITH LILY BEGGING TO PILOT THE TARDIS AND THE DOCTOR CAVING IN. She was almost positive that she could expert it after seeing him do it countless times in her dreams. But after attempting to do so Lily quickly figured out it was like if you've watched an artist paint a painting- seems very simple to replicate the painting yourself. That is until you lift the paint brush to the canvas and see it's not as easy as it looked.
"Hold that one down!" The Doctor ordered Lily while the TARDIS jerked during flight. They were both desperately holding onto the console- both on either side of the machine.
She leaned to the side, balancing on one foot, and glared at him from around the tube. "I am holding this down!" She kept doing just that- pressing down on the button he had told her to do earlier.
He nodded to another button. "Well, hold them both down!"
Lily saw what button he was referring to and was floored at the distance between it and herself. "You have gotta be joking." She gave him a bewildered look. "Why not you? You're closer!"
"You wanted the lesson so here it is." The TARDIS jerked again and this time it was so violent they both nearly fell backward if it weren't for their grips on the console. "Press it!"
The way her body had to stretch to reach the button made her back pop, but she pressed it and sighed as the TARDIS calmed. Twisting her back to stand up straight she continued her grip on the console- trying to regain her composure. The Doctor was currently back to the monitor seeming to double-check what time they landed. He smirked at Lily's stance. "You good there, Red?"
