"I don't blame you, Rose. I don't even blame Mum. I just- I can't breathe. I can't think. It's all gone. All those dreams that I can't remember."

The Powell Estate - London, England March, 2006
LILY TOOK THE TIME, AFTER THE DOCTOR LANDED THE TARDIS, to change out of her gown and into a new outfit- thinking the shock she was about to give her mum and sister would go better if she was in her normal dress. She stepped out of her blue box and looked around at the wide alleyway they were in. "How long has it been?" She asked the Doctor who was now leaning against the closed TARDIS doors.
"Oh," He shrugged. "About twelve hours."
Lily threw her head back and laughed. "God, I'll never get used to this." She looked back at the Doctor and pointed a thumb behind her shoulder at her flat's building 'the Powell Estate.' "Game plan is to let me go see them on my own for about." She did the 'so and so' motion with her hands. "thirty minutes. Then you come up and I hope I got her in a good mood by then."
"She can't be that dramatic, can she?"
Lily giggled. "You haven't met my mum."
His face grew serious. "What will you tell her about .. you know?"
She knew what he meant without him saying anything. "One crisis at a time." She pushed her non-aging to the back of her mind. "Getting her to believe you're real is gonna be hard enough. Now, don't you go running off?" Lily pointed at him as she backed away- step by step. "You've done it before."
His face was still serious but now it had a sort of softness to it. "Never again- trust me. I'm not going anywhere."
Lily believed him. And after giving him a scrunch of her nose in a playful manner she spun around on her heel and started to the building with a giddy step. When she got to the stairwell she ran up the flights, eager beyond belief to see her mum and Rose. Within minutes she was at her front door and started fishing her house key out of her dress pocket. Something to know about Lily is she always had to have pockets with every outfit of hers- whether that be shorts, a dress, or even her jacket.
