Continuing from 'The Doctor Dances - Part II'

JACK DISAPPEARING WITH ROSE SEEMED TO CONCERN THE DOCTOR MORE THAN LILY. She sat on the storeroom table, swinging her legs while he inspected the dimly lit room further. "Why is it always the extremely great-looking ones who vanish into thin air?"

The Doctor stopped what he was doing and turned towards her, looking almost offended. "I'm making an effort not to be insulted." He then pointed a finger at her. "And you don't seem as scared as I thought you'd be. He took off with your sister."

"I trust him."

He glared and mocked her. "You trust him."

She narrowed her eyes, now on alert. "Yes, something wrong with that?"

"No, it's just," He casually stuffed his hands in his jacket pockets. "You trusted Adam and look how that turned out." Lily stopped herself from gasping. "You don't seem to have a good judgment of character."

However, she couldn't hold back the loud laugh that came from hearing him say that last part. "If you've already forgotten, it's because of my judgment of character that I'm traveling with you. That Rose is traveling with you."

Lily noticed the Doctor's teeth were gritting together. "Rose who is god knows where with a strange man who seemed very handsy and too comfortable with you."

This time, Lily gasped. "Handsy and too com-" She had to look to the side and control her anger before continuing in a more leveled tone. "Have you not met Rose? We were raised by Jackie who taught us both how to take care of ourselves if worse comes to worse." He crossed his arms and leaned his back on a bookcase- his fists were clenched. "And she won't have to worry about that 'cos Jack isn't Adam!"

The radio in the room crackled to life and Lily never thanked an inanimate object more. "Lily? Doctor? Can you hear me?" They shared a look when they both heard Jack's voice from the other end and started towards it. "We're back on my ship. Used the emergency teleport. Sorry, I couldn't take you both. Two per trip is the max and Rose was the closest."

Rose's voice sounded. "Hello!"

Lily fought back giving the Doctor a look and directed her voice to the radio. "You got him handle, Ro?"

"Don't worry about me," Jack answered for her. "I've already been smacked."

"Twice." Rose chuckled, clearly pleased with herself. "Both because of some choice things he had to say about you, Lils."

The Doctor's eyes looked daggers. "What choice words?"

Jack quickly spoke. "I'm working on it beaming you both here. Hang in there."

The Doctor held up a pair of unattached wires and Lily saw they were to the radio they were currently speaking through. "How are you both talking to us?" Lily asked Jack.

"Om-Com. I can call anything with a speaker grill."

The Doctor scoffed, letting the wires fall. "Now there's a coincidence."

"What is?"

"The child can Om-Com, too."

Lily's interest peaked. "He can?"

The Doctor nodded. "Anything with a speaker grill. Even the Tardis phone."

Lily's blood chilled when she came to the realization. "You mean the child can phone us?"
