"Honored guests may be reassured that gravity pockets may cause slight turbulence, Thank you."
WHEN THEY MADE IT BACK TO THE OBSERVATION DECK Lily stopped following the Doctor when Cassandra caught her eye. She was talking to the crow surrounding her and Lily joined in- crossing her arms as she listened. "Soon, the sun will blossom into a red giant, and my home will die." Cassandra droned on, earning an eye roll from Lily. "That's where I used to live, when I was a little boy, down there. Mummy and Daddy had a little house built into the side of the Los Angeles Crevice. I'd have such fun."
Lily saw the break in her story as an opportunity to chime in. "What happened to everyone else?" Cassandra and the eyes of the crowd looked towards her. "The human race, where did it go?"
"They say mankind has touched every star in the sky," Cassandra replied.
An eyebrow raised. "So, you're not the last human."
"I am the last pure human!" Lady Cassandra's voice grew louder- Lily could tell her comments were getting to her. "The others mingled." She moved her attention back to the crowd. "Oh, they call themselves New humans and Proto-humans and Digi-humans, even 'Humanish, but you know what I call them? Mongrels." She spitted.
"And you stayed behind?"
"I kept myself pure."
"How many operations have you had?"
"Seven hundred and eight." Lily couldn't stop her eyes from widening. "Next week, it's seven hundred and nine. I'm having my blood bleached." Cassandra's eyes narrowed at Lily. "Is that why you wanted a word? You could be flatter, Lily. You've got a little bit of a chin poking out."
"I rather die." Lily sneered at the flap of skin.
"Honestly, it doesn't hurt." Cassandra let out a laugh.
"No, I mean it." Lily shook her head. "I would rather die. It's better to die than live like you, a bitchy trampoline."
"Oh, well. What do you know." Lily could tell that Cassandra was seething with anger by the way she spoke. Other than that, she couldn't very well read it on her face as the disadvantage of just being a slap of skin.
"I was born on that planet," Lily started to lose her cool as Cassandra brushed her off so she began to rant. "And so was my mum, and so was my dad, and so was my sister, Rose." Lily didn't know where this anger came from. "And that makes me officially the last human, 'cos you're not human. You've had it all nipped and tucked and flattened till there's nothing left. Anything human got chucked in the bin. You're just skin, Cassandra. Lipstick and skin." When she noticed the Doctor watching her from a distance. The concerned look on his face snapped her back to reality. She took in a breath and nodded to Cassandra. "Nice talking." before striding towards the Doctor.
"What was that about?" The Doctor asked her when she got closer to him.
"Nothing," She waved him off and produced a bright smile. "Just girl talk. Oh," She relaxed more when she saw Jabe standing nearby. "Hello again."
Jabe smiled and gave Lily a slight bow of her head. "Hello."
"Jabe was just about to show me to the engine room." The Doctor explained. "If you'd like to join us."
Jabe spoke. "I'd be happy to show you both- you and your wife." She said the last part in a questioning tone.
Lily grew hot- knowing her embarrassment was written all over her face. Oh, no.." She laughed awkwardly. "We're not."
