Continuing from 'The End of the World - Part I'

LILY AND THE DOCTOR JOINED IN TIME TO HEAR THE STEWARD ANNOUNCE THEIR NAMES BEHIND THE PODIUM HE STOOD AT and order the staff of blue aliens that matched himself to swarm the room. They seemed like an army of guards. "Hurry, now, thank you. Quick as we can! Come along, come along!" He rushed them before continuing. "And now, might I introduce the next honored guest? Representing the Forest of Cheam, we have trees, namely, Jabe, Lute, and Coffa." Lily and the Doctor stood next to one another as three human-like trees, two male and one female, entered the room. "There will be an exchange of gifts representing peace. If you could keep the room circulating, thank you." The female caught Lily's eye from across the room. It was the first time Lily had ever felt attraction for a .. tree.
"Next, from the solicitors Jolco and Jolco, we have the Moxx of Balhoon." These were unlike any alien she had seen in her dreams before, and she was now certain there would be more in the future. She couldn't help herself when a pudgy blue alien sat on some kind of hover chair floated in behind the tree people- she gasped. Gasped when she saw him and she was embarrassed until the Doctor chuckled next to her, making her feel better.
The Steward had carried on, speaking into the microphone. "And next, from Financial Family Seven, we have the Adherents of the Repeated Meme."
Lily was unable to see what these aliens looked like because the three people had approached them. "The gift of peace." The female-focused all her attention on Lily as her head dropped to a small bow. She took one of the plants her accomplices held. "I, Jabe, give you a cutting of my grandfather." The Doctor might as well have been invisible as Jabe handed the plant to Lily. She graciously took it with a smile, glancing to the Doctor for some kind of help. But the time lord just stood by, watching with a smile.
"Oh, thank you." Lily made sure to voice her gratitude the best she could to the beautiful woman. She held the plant in her hands and waited for them to leave, but they just continued watching. When the realization hit that she too was supposed to give a gift Lily grew pale. "Right, gifts! Uh," She had nothing on her person that she was willing to part with. When she looked at the plant in her head a light bulb switched on in her mind. "I, Lily Carter," She matched Jabe's way of sentencing. "Give you air from my lungs." Lily took in a breath and pursed her lips, lightly blowing on the female tree.
Jabe closed her eyes as she inhaled Lily's carbon dioxide. When her eyes opened, they appeared sultry to Lily. Jabe looked at the ginger in a whole other light, giving her a long and lingering once-over. "Oh," Her voice gave it away too. "How intimate."
"Yeah?" Lily bit her lip- which only made Jabe's attention zero in on it. "Well, there's more where that came from."
The corner of Jabe's mouth hitched upwards. "I'll remember that." And then she walked away to the next alien, the two male trees following closely behind.
Lily palmed the potted plant and leaned her head to the side. The Doctor leaned down so she could speak in his ear- ever so quietly so Jabe couldn't overhear. "Did I just flirt with a tree?"
"I should feel offended." He answered at the same level as her. "You've never spoken to me that way."
She elbowed him and he chuckled at that. Lily knew he was playing with her, so why did she feel the way she did?
"From the Silver Devastation," the Steward interrupted her thoughts. "The sponsor of the main event, please welcome the Face of Boe!"
When a giant humanoid head inside a water tank rolled in, Lily almost asked the Doctor to pinch her to see if she was seeing this. "How?" She mumbled to no one in particular
