Continuing from 'Dalek - Part III'

LILY OPENED HER EYES AND WAS BEYOND SHOCKED THAT SHE WAS COMPLETELY UNHARMED. She put her phone back in her back pocket. The Dalek's eye was mere inches from her face. "What happened? Don't wanna kill me?"
"I am armed." The Dalek challenged her. "I will kill. It is my purpose."
"And now what?" Her voice stayed strong. "What're you waiting for?"
"I feel your fear."
She scoffed. "What did you expect?"
"Daleks do not fear. Must not fear." Lily jumped and held back a squeal when the Dalek shot at either side of the door, missing her entirely. "You gave me life! What else have you given me? I am contaminated!"
Lily kept her arms at her side in fear she would start something if she did anything but tiny movements. "Why did you kill all those people?"
"I do not have to answer or listen to you."
Lily narrowed her eyes. "But you are. Why?"

The lift doors pinged open and both of the Doctor's hearts ached when we saw the look of despair on Rose's face. "Doctor," She whimpered as she exited, Adam beside her. "Lily, it-" He pulled her into his arms and held her tightly, letting her sob into his chest. "It killed it." She cried and he shushed her.
"I'm sorry, Rose." He muttered into the top of her head- holding back his own tears. "I am so so sorry." Once his eyes fixated on Adam his sorrow turned to anger. "You," he growled and gently pushed Rose into Goddard's awaiting and caring arms. "You were quick on your feet, leaving Lily behind!"
"I'm not the one who sealed the vault!" Adam retorted.
All their bickering stopped as the television screen on the wall flashed on, displaying the Dalek and an unharmed Lily standing next to it. "Lily!" Rose squealed in happiness and left Goddard to get a better view. "Oh my God! You're okay!"
"Not for long." The Dalek interrupted her. "Open the bulkhead or Lily Carter dies."
"Hey Doc," Lily's eyes met the Doctor's who stood near Rose. She was grinning ear to ear and he could see she was trying her hardest to be brave. "You just can't get rid of me, can yah?"
"I thought you were dead." He whispered.
"Not today, I'm not."
The Doctor and Rose both shared a loud laugh which the Dalek did not approve of. "Open the bulkhead!"
"Don't do it!" Lily pleaded.
"What use are emotions if you will not save the woman you love?"
After the Dalek said that something snapped in the Doctor. His hearts stopped as he looked at Lily- her hair now coming undone from her braid and her green top halfway unbuttoned. She was still breathing hard, from fear or adrenaline or both. But she was still breathing. The sight of her, in that state of being utterly alive, nearly took his breath away. "I killed her once," He walked over to the same keyboard he had used to close the doors. "And I never will again," With that, the Doctor pressed the enter key again which unlocked the vault. The last thing they saw before the screen went black was the Dalek escorting Lily through.
Van Statten was in an absolute panic. "What do we do now, you bleeding heart." His voice raised as he questioned the alien. "What the hell do we do?"
"Kill it?" Adam suggested.
"None of the guns will work," Rose spoke up, chewing on her thumbnail.
"She's right." Goddard agreed. "All the guns are useless, and the alien weapons are in the vault."
"Only the cataloged ones." Adam corrected.
"Bring me to them." The Doctor ordered him.
Before he could follow Adam out, Rose took hold of his arm. "Hey," The Doctor looked down at her. Her eyes were now clear of tears but her voice remained hoarse from her cries. "Bring her back to me."
"I swear on all my lives." He promised her and after a quick kiss on her cheek, he followed Adam out of the room to save his Red.
