19. Work Problem 1

Chapter 19

"Thanks for the lunch grandma."

"You don't need to Mon. This is your home too. So how is your last visit to the clinic?"

"Were both doing well Grandma. Bunny here is very energetic and healthy."

Im at grandma's place to pay her a visit with Ran. We arrived with a basket of fruits and a bouquet of flowers for her. We just finished lunch and is having tea outside.

"How about Sam? I heard there's a bit of a problem in the company. Is she still doing her duties to you and Bunny?"

"She's a bit busy but she's still doing her best for me and Bun-bun, Grandma. Im just a bit worried since she would wake up early and sleep late these past few days."

"Neung mentioned about a project accident so she took over some works to deal with it herself. Neung is helping her so its gonna be fine soon. I'll tell her to keep it easy too."

"thanks Grandma."

"How about Diversity?"

"Were doing great. Kirk is there to oversee the team too. They are even asking me to start my maternity leave already so i wont be stressed out with work and traveling."

"Then why don't you really start it early. I mean, they are doing well with handling things in there."

"I told Sam that I'll start when i reached 7 months of pregnancy Grandma. Besides im going to be so bored at home when i start now. I'll just pester everyone when my boredom strikes during those time. So im giving you all a favor by not starting early."

We both laugh at my last comment. She's now aware that i hate staying still for long. I need something to do to keep me sane. And being in Diversity helps me a lot. Plus they already took almost 3/4s of my work, its not giving me any stress at all and traveling to work is not that long too. And i consider walking from the parking up to my office as an exercise.

Grandma and I are having a great conversation when a call from Khun Neung arrived.

"Answer it, it might be important." Grandma said before sipping her tea. I excused myself first then proceed to answer the call.

"Hello Khun Neung?" no one answered but i can hear commotion on the other line. Then i heard my wife's voice scolding someone followed by a loud closing of the door and a deafening silence. Grandma then looked at me in curiosity.

"Hello? Mon?"

"Khun Neung? Why is Sam angry? I heard her voice."

"Did she mention about a problem in the company?"

"Yes she did but she said its not that serious. Im here at Grandma's too and we talked about it. Why?"

"Sam took over the project herself right? And now she found more problems in it. She's very angry right now and it seems like the old Khun Sam that everyone in Diversity is afraid of returned here at the office."

"What? So what did she do? Is she terrorizing everyone again?" i said as i paced back and forth in front of the sofa i am sitting a while ago. I can see Grandma staring at me, maybe worried too coz of my reaction.

"And that's the reason why i called you Mon. She threatened to fire everyone in the finance and accounting department this morning if no one can pin point the cause of this issue. Everyone is working non-stop coz of it. No one can talk to her also. Everyone is afraid to approach her office and that everyone includes me. Im so afraid of my sister right now. No one in the office had seen her like this, they are all scared. We have the papers she can use but no one wants to enter the lion's den, we still love our lives Mon. Can you please talk to her? We cant solve this problem if she cant calm down herself."
