Chapter 26

"Hey Bunny... Don't wanna let Mami sleep again tonight aren't you?" Mon said and rubbed her belly.

It's 1 AM and she's now wobbling back and forth in their living room, the lights out, leaving only the ones illuminating their poolside. Her mild contractions or Braxton Hicks and back pain is killing her, but it's normal, her P'Fah told her during one of their visits. There's still a week left before her assigned due so she's not that worried. She walked her way to the kitchen to get a glass of water.

Sam on the other hand just woke up and saw Mon's place empty. It's a common sight since last week. Bunny would wake her Mami up by kicking her organs, she felt bad for her wife but Mon would just smile at her and say its all normal and its ok. How lucky she is to have a woman like Mon in her life, she thought. Sam stood up, wore her robe and looked for her wife. The living room is empty, same as the pool side, the next place she looked at is the kitchen which is empty too. She looked outside and there she is, her lovely wife, holding a glass of what she thought is milk on one hand and her other hand rubbing her belly.

"She's kicking your spleen again?" Sam asked. Though surprised, Mon just chuckled at her wife's antics

"It's my ribs this time Dada." Mon smiled at her. Sam came and wrapped her arms around her wife, both hands on her pregnant belly, gently rubbing it. Mon clasped their hands and leaned on her wife.

"Did i wake you up again?" Mon inquired with her eyes closed

"No, i actually didn't know you went out. Im sure i fell asleep as soon as we hit the bed. Are you ok? What are you feeling?"

"Nothing out of ordinary." Mon replied

"That does not answer my question Mami."

Mon just giggled. "Im fine. Braxtons and back pains, as usual. I went out since it feels so hot too. All i want is to be out here and feel a breeze of cold wind." Mon chuckled

Then Sam felt Mon gripped her hand, a long and hurting one.

"Mami?"

"Woah. That one is strong." Mon said in between deep breathing.

"Let's go to the hospital." Sam stated worriedly, Mon just smiled.

"No, it might be just another fake contractions. Let's observe it for a while." Mon looked at her watch and take note of the time

"But Mami - - -"

"It stopped already Love. It's fine now. Wanna take a walk with me?" Mon asked, her face plastering a smile she knew Sam will never decline. Sam agreed and held her wife's hand, helping her move around. Another 20 minutes passed and they are talking about Megan when Mom stopped walking and gripped Sam's arm, the latter held her wife to support her in case. Mon held her breathe while a strong surge of pain flows from the back to the front of her body for a minute.

Mon, being a well prepared 1st time Mom, read all kinds of books and articles regarding pregnancy and childbirth. The moment she felt that strong contraction and timing, she knew this is not just an ordinary Braxton. She is in active labor and she kinda expected it already.

She's been uncomfortable the whole day but she kept it from her wife since she knew Sam will be a nervous and panic mess. She wanted to be sure before telling her or else hell will loose and Sam will be all over her every passing second of their day.

"M-Mon, i-i think we should call P'Fah." Sam said voice laced with panic already.

"I think we should , Love." Mon said. She looked at her wife again and saw how Sam's eyes dilate from worries.  "Dada? Can you relax for me? Im feeling fine and im not that near giving birth yet. So take it easy Love. You can go panic later ok? How about you help me back to our room? I think i need a shower." Mom said calmly.
