Chapter 51 - New Beginnings

"I need this references before our 1 pm meeting. I want all the sales and marketing heads to attend. I expect everyone present in todays meeting, are we clear Priya?" i instructed her as soon as we entered my office.

"Noted my lady."

"Thank you Priya. Is there anything important thats on my schedule today?"

"Aside form the meeting at 1PM, you are free the rest of the day My Lady. And Lady Mon called to remind you of your family finner tonight. She asked me to let you go before 4 pm. She'll meet you at home before you go to the family estate." Priya said and handed me my coffee.

"Remind me of that by 3 pm. Order me a bouquet of white lilies for grandma and red roses for my wife. I'll pick it up on my way home."

"I will order right away My Lady. Is there anything else you need Maam?" my ever trusted secretary asked.

"there's none yet but i'll call you if i need anything soon. Thanks Priya. You may go back to your desk."

I went to my own table and prepare for a full day of work. My eyes landed to the photo frame on my right. There's two photos of our family. Mon, Bun and Me. One shows the three of us, i am sitting on a high chair, Bunny on my left leg while Mon is standing on my right side, we are all wearing white formal dresses, showing a more legal and elegant side of our family. The other one is with a more relaxed photo session, We are both hugging our grinning baby girl as we sit on the center of a picnic themed set up. But both photos shows the duality of our family, the more regal, elegant and royal side and our normal family set up. I smiled as i looked at the frames.

Its been a month since we went home from our vacation. Its been a month since we received a the news.

FLASHBACK

"Hello my dears, ready for today?" the doctor said as we entered the room.

"Ready doc." i said, nervous but excited.

"Then, shall we?" the nurse assisted me to the exam bed, Mon not leaving my side. She immediately held my hand after i was settled.the nurse draw a couole of vials of blood from me for the needed bloodworks since they can't see anything on ultrasound yet.

"How are you feeling? Do you feel changes in your body?" Dr. Freeman asked.

"Nothing really Doc. I feel fine and well." i replied.

"ok, lets just wait for the results of the blood tests so we can see things. I made your results on priority so we will surely have the results in no time." our doctor said. We stayed for some time and he asked more questions. Mon is attentively listening and asking questions too.

Took us some hours before the results arrived. We decided to walk around and have lunch to calm our nerves. Were just walking silently when i asked her something i know she is thinking too.

"Mami? what if it turns out negative?" i asked her. Mon immediately looked at me with a worried look on her face.

"Dont be a pessimist Samanun." she said and glared at me.

I just smiled at her but asked her again too. "Just what if Mami? We both know the risks of this procedure. Nothing is certain in IVF. The transfer. might be fine but lets not omit the idea of implantation failure. With my age and health  factors it might not be impossible to happen." i explained to her

Mon pulled me to a nearest bench and we took a seat there.

"Love... Can we not talk about this? We should lean to the positive side on times like this."
