Cheryl didn't quite know how to handle the tree outside her bedroom window. It looked dead with its branches all twisted in a hundred different directions. It gave her the creeps, but her landlord didn't care. He wasn't going to chop it down. Not when the tree didn't haunt him as it swayed across the moonlight during a storm. Cheryl could have sworn the odd tree was getting closer, too. Every day it looked to be moving towards the window, maybe a foot at a time, until Cheryl woke one night and found the malevolent tree leaning over her bed.
